  1. ALL IS WELL! I grabbed the wrong GPSR. A 60CS and a 60CSx are just to much alike. Sorry, for the confusion.
  2. This is interesting! I downloaded the MAC version and it wiped the slate clean. No trails showed up as if they never were there. The two previous versions worked great but for some unknown reason this version did not. I'm not sure what the problem is.
  3. At true post at GC1A6KZ, Doodlebuggie's Troll Cache... The fact that it was my post and that this was area which a Dog Show going on. My Post goes like this... Yep, I made it down and as everyone set up I wandered over with dog in-tow. Found the hiding place and the well placement of the Squirrel you should be given points. Do you realize that a Squirrel, a dog on a leash and a person of 6'2" can cause serious injury? The quick spin as dog takes off after said Squirrel. Let's see shoulder is still attached. Then there comes the pull as the forehead VS structure united. STOP! I calmly take dog back to owner and take all belongings to Ring side. Now to go back and have a talk with the Squirrel about his attitude, my shoulder socket and forehead. Could not find the Squirrel but found the Cache. The Pink log and my red ink go well together. Thanks for an enjoyable morning. Has this city ever thought about a Leash Law for Squirrel? MtnMutt The Muttmobile was here and no one Discovered it.
  4. Have you checked with your local Boy Scout Troops? Several requirements now include task with GPS. So, within the Troop you will find several who know or do Geocaching. If they help out they can add those hours to their Service Hours. WEBELOS who start checking out troops can find a Troop that does things with GPS. Also check with the Roundtable Commissioners, District Ex, and of course your council office. Good luck & safe Scouting, MtnMutt
  5. First... Thank You!!! Being a iMac G5 and not being PC, this was a real treat. First time back in May prior to the HOTM, I jerry rigged Northwest Trails into my GPSmap 60CSx. Don't ask don't tell! I strictly use Mac not Virtual and those type items. Garmin Bobcat, Garmin Mapinstall, Garmin Map Manager, TOPO US 2008 for Mac and now your newest Version of Northwest Trails. The installation went smoothly and now I'll give it a try this weekend at or near Sequim since I'll be there for a Dogshow. Hope to knock out at least 5 while there. First, review by just checking around here on various GOTO using Bobcat the Trails show up clear as dotted Black, highlighted Green. Will report back once I've used it in the field. Thanks again for your support and effort in helping out those Mac/Apple folks located around the Northwest. MtnMutt
  6. Thanks to FluteFace for a smooth adoption, this cache will be back in action soon. Again Thanks, MtnMutt
  7. Come Back - GCHHY5, needs a new owner. I keep meaning to go up and fix this one but always get going the wrong direction. If someone would like to take this one over let me know. MtnMutt
  8. Everyone seems to carry the wonder fix within their packs and never realize the use. I have even walked over and picked on off the trail and thrown it into my pack as a repair for the metal poles. A pop can... yes. A pop can. Cut a piece to wrap around that broken area. You will want to make sure the length is 1 1/2 longer on each side of the break and a double wrap. Then wrap that with Duct Tape. It may not look like a new REI pole but for a weekend quick fix it will do. Who cares the rainfly covered it. Try spending 4 days at Lake Constance and the first day the Goats want to play Tent tag and break a pole. The repair took 15 minutes and the fix worked. OK.. I got lazy and did not replace the pole for a year because the fix worked. Sure it took a bit of patience when setting up and taking down the tent.
  9. This so call cacher has a unique way of caching as you review this ones CACHE History and their pattern of being in various locations. After the review at that time you make your call as to having been there or Virtual wandering.
  10. The Mutt needs needs 5 of the 30 cal. ,Please.
  11. Springtime has got off to a good start visiting Office Supply Stores. The hardest part is finding safe large enough Caches.
  12. If the Tires are around 1.5" & above wide you will not need to worry and if new, the terrain should not bother them. But part of your essentials is a tire repair kit and of course a small hand pump.
  13. NO Problem. We had kids do it on BMX bikes. Then came upon a guy doing it ona Unicycle. Talk about tough.
  14. Have you as a Mac person gone here? http://www.maccaching.com/ Have you as a Mac person played around with Cocoa? I have not made the move to a Garmin Colorado due to some issue some folks are having. I will wait for a year so the bugs can be worked out. As for PC/Mac, each is good for the intented usage in each of their abilities.
  15. Darn, Totem you need a few to hit 300 and I need a few [16] to hit 500. I keep scratching my brain to find a weekend to hit this magic number, too. I was doing a bit of seaching for unique Caches for my 500 hit and stumbled upon this report & found only 1 find so far and this has been in place still 06-19-2004, 'You Better Be An Ace' - GCJRW0 .. http://www.2drx.com/2001/AcesUp/ ... AKA West Fork Miller Road. I have not been out on the Old back Roads to see about closures as yet nor checked with other sources as to the additional length of this round trip beast but it is something to put into the Back Burner of evryone who is looking for a long weekend of Hiking. Ihope to knock at least one off the list today is all goes well. Thanks again for that HOTM..Walk in the Park, Ouch!'
  16. A bit of filming was done at the seedy Mt Si Motel which is east of North Bend City Center at North Bend Way and Mt Si Road. Two close by caches are Egg U On & Bored are nearby. These two will be archived most likely in July when the new bridge opens and the roadway changes. One additional bit to help is the North Bend Zip Code is 98045, which should setup a nice number of Caches for you review for your Caching pleasure. So have fun and welcome to the Great Northwest and of course a STOP at Tweedy's is a must. MtnMutt
  17. Those look to be fun! Hmmm? Very interesting indeed. Just need a bit more snow pack to disappear and the search begins. If I get another pass to go out and play. Besides.. today I picked up the mail and there were 2. Yes, 2 Pocket Decoders with my name on them. This could be a start of some fun caches along the way and other fun spots. Keep an eye out... DasMutt is scratching.
  18. STOP! This person has a mindset that can not be turned. This same person was also taught about the use of a BIC pen with the pen removed and of course a pencil. Did I forget a Paperclip? They will soon request those be blocked from being in a Cache. They are who they are. If they really felt what they say, then why would they remove it and just leave for someone else. Just stop feeding this person and move on, just remember who they are. What is a Blood Circle? What is a Totin' Chip?
  19. To HOTM 5-17-2008 Crew.... Pain in a Hike of this Magnitude [TMT] will be temporary, but the Honor to finish with a Great Group of Folks will be a memory forever. Thanks, MtnMutt
  20. OK.. Chores done less early morning feedings should be there on time. Oh..yes.. Cocoa
  21. That would be great. I'm still not Sure.. what I did to force this unique conversion. Just check it out first to see if I did it correctly. I need to start taking notes again on my crazy playing around.
  22. CHIME...CHIME.. I'm really pushing the limit on getting everything done so I can go. Now do not throw sticks at me, for I'm not sure I did the right thing but I'm open to a few Slaps to the forehead with a wet Carp, for what I'm about to tell you. I'm still not sure it's going to work as I need to go out and test it. First I'm a MAC person.. Second, I wanted to load Northwest Trails into my 60CSx. Note.. NWTP is a PC Program. Third... I played around with this and that... I think it is now loaded but need those that have used it to verify it is loaded on a MAC GPSR. That is the correct system. I just know that the Maps are different, I'll bring another GPS in case I hosed the good one up.
  23. Hmmm.. I just don't know, I have a 3yr Old Town Penobscot 17 Canoe and 65 pounds is a bit heavy. I've used it 3 times now it sits. We used the same type when we did the 80 mile Bowron Wilderness trip several years ago. I guess it is time to get rid of it. Kayak maybe easier to move about...
  24. Shoot...Darn.. I sure hope my plans to join fall in place, will know best by Thursday.
  25. Hello... if I can get a Chemo pass for the 17th, can an old person tag along? I'm still trying to approach the Magical number of 500 for a Turtle pace. If you hold a Cold Beer in front of me, I'll follow you anywhere. MtnMutt
