  1. Pull the SBA trigger! the owner was under the weather in Feb.06 has not logged in since Feb .06............this cache is probably the least of his worrys.
  2. After reading thru the two above links I have come to the conclusion that the OP is probably a troll of sorts. I was waiting to hear more from him, but he has not appeared since page two. No one from his area has chimed in on this to confirm his story, but I found one Quote on Jan 06 from a local..... "Another WI geocacher here. I have heard absolutely NOTHING about this except from the poster who posted it, himself, on several places on the WI boards. I suspect an overactive imagination is at work here. " If this is really happening in Wi., I would like to hear about it from somebody else. Surely with a hundred muggled caches there has to be some other folks that can lend credence to these claims.
  3. Seeing that the sign was put up by the Auduban society, Im guessing it has a ban on electronic bird calling. probably consider it cheating.
  4. Disoz; Just what part of hypotheticaly don't you understand?
  5. A couple things on this... you risk not only losing a cache but a very expensive hunting camera. Also, even though it appears to be widespread, it seems like it would be almost impossible to pinpoint which cache s/he would hit. I have a trail cam out right now on two of my caches that have been vandalized, and am not worried about loosing a camera because they are not at the cache site, but the parking areas facing the back of the vehicle as it has to park. It gives a clear shot of the plate. And after reading this forum, and seeing that law enforcement has bigger fish to fry. I guess I will have to handle the problem my own way if I catch the culprit, which doesn't include forgetting about it. There is too much [ignore it, and it will go away] mentality going on today. That’s why Law enforcement is so busy with the bigger fish. People ignored them when they were little fish with hopes that they would go away, and they seized on that apathy, and now you got your giant case load of bigger fish. Hypothetically, I may catch the rat, and kick him in the butt, and get arrested, and I’ll bet I am told more than once “You should have let the law handle it”........Yea right!
  6. Wear Orange by day, or go at night or on Sunday. Don't make animal noises while walking.
  7. Here's a Quote from Ol'Bluesgal...."NOW WHERE YOU GOING WITH THAT STUPID THING AROUND YER' NECK'? or, ....'How long before I have to call 911?
  8. Im in the northeast, retired, with nothing else to do right now.
  9. Solar patio lights - water proof, solar, with battery back up and a light. All you need is the circuitry to make it flash if that is important. I use my solar patio lights to charge AA batterys when I'm out in the bush. Just don't let them turn on at night.
  10. I have an Idea ..Why doesn't the NPS hire a guy {let's say me] To go around and put out Geocaches on NPS land. That way they could have total control over what is put out there, and I would be the only one allowed to place caches......I'm just sayin. O'BG
  11. I like this one....the one mentioned above. All you have to do is figure out the switching if you only want it to trigger when someone is near. Or if you want it on all the time,a small solar panel like you can put on your dashboard . you just have to figure out how to reduce the voltage. Is ther a way to find out how long it would blink on a set of batts?
  12. knowing what you do, and not knowing exactly where you do it, I dont think you should be doing an Artie Johnson impression. On this adventure you should be doing your Seargent Shultz impression.{'I know nothing!!'} ps. I hope you do it in larksville or I'm sunk.
  13. Dave: I have met you, and I think I like you .So your off my helpers list. I don’t think you mountain guys can imagine what we used to do for fun down here in the valley 50years ago. I will send you some pics. And a brief description just to get your take on it . If you still feel you are not qualified I’ll understand. I will respect your opinion only if you leave out words like Nuts, crazy,or any other insults to my sanity which I have already used on myself. OBG
  14. Save them for when you want to show someone what Geocaching is all about
  15. This is something I remember from my fearless youth, and I was recently thinking about it, and what a great 5/5 cache it would make. I mentioned the Idea to some friends, and they threatened to tell the wife of my madness. They spewed out comments like ..."What are you?*&$#%@ NUTS!! Today, just because I couldn't get it out of my head I took a ride over to the place where I want it to start just to have a look-see. {I was supposed to be going to the store while the Queen napped] I was standing there with forty mile an hour wind blowing in my face shaking my head saying 'I don't know,' I don't know...I don't know if I can ask somebody to do this crazy stunt. What I saw scared the bejeepers out of me, and made me wonder where my head was at when I was a kid. After some more re-con I will decide if I will continue on, or forget about it. ‘I don’t know. O’BG
  16. Wanted ...Strong, Brave helper,or helpers with no fear of the dark,or claustrophobia. must be a good swimmer, casual contact with spiders ,and snakes is a possibility. Coal miner,or a son of a coal miner will get extra consideration. subterainian seamanship will also be highly considered. I will do most of the re-con before even attempting this placement to be sure that is even possible. This could be the scariest thing you ever did in your life. I would do it myself, but am too afraid. contact me at gc.com
  17. I did not think of that option good idea, thanks I think I will use that. You will have to give me your home co-ordinates to get a clue LOL O'BG
  18. According to the Gocache rating system the cache hide I am planning comes out a 5/5. It says....Finding this cache requires very specialized knowledge, skills, or equipment. This is a serious mental or physical challenge. What I want to know is, am I obligated to say what eqipment is required,or should I let the cacher decide for himself after he sizes up the challenge. There may be more than one way to skin a cat on this one. O'BG
  19. Bieng from Pa. we only get 7, plus one hypen or one space So here's a few for you hiders out there EI-HYDUM HYDUM 4U MLTI-MAN PUZLS 4U GOT-SWAG GEO-BUM GEO-RAT GEO-DOG GEO-DAD GEO-MOM GEO-KIDS And the one I think I will get ONO-OBG Or if you see my rig parked in the boonies I'll be OUT-HYDN O'BG
  20. The game is called "Telephone" I think. As far as bieng a little bit fun,I agree, that is what it is supposed to be,but consider this. I put out a well thought out cache in a nice hiding spot. cachers come and go .finding and logging their hunt. all of a sudden the DNF logs start. The regulars start calling for clues. After the clues they still can't find it. I take a long trip to check things out.I look all over and I can't fid it ,and replace the round container with a square one. Then they start finding it again. one day I get an email saying that two cachers out together found one each. a round one,and a square one thirty feet away.GRRRRRRR! Or I get an email from someone that had found one of my caches previously, and now wants to take a friend . He goes out and it's not where he knows it's supposed to be.He sends me an email that it's missing. I make a trip out to find it's not missing, just moved Grrrrrrrr! I just wish that when folks reach for a hidden container they would make a mental image of how it was hidden.Thats all.
  21. I have a couple out there that I should get a smiley for finding after they were moved. Some that I couldn't find got replaced and guess what? The original was found some distance away from the original placement, and now there are two!
  22. I like putting a cache out that I can watch people search for. This one has an unnessesary requirement to stand on one leg as you look for the next clue. You would be supprised to see how many burst out laughig while standing on one leg. Hit The Bricks
  23. This one the whole setting is creepy...Nightime @ Deep Hollow And this one is known to make young Boys levitate, and old boys need a change of Drawers. Myah's Cache
  24. I don't know, maybe it's the cold. They might all be hitching a warm ride on passing deer. They seem to be on them even in Dec.-Jan.
  25. You can have the stages as close as you want,as long as the reviewer knows the begining and the end. It won't hurt to let them know where the rest are though. I have a four stage multi in a small park near my home ,and each stage is less than a hundred yards away from the next. You say "For an example, if i say you must go to a plaque to see the date or message on it, then the next stage should be how far away? " It could be only feet, to another plaque or something similar like a park bench or a sign. You could create a multi in your living room,if you left a clue to the next stage in each container LOL.
