  1. thank you kunarion...it appears this was even responded to by moun10bike on 12-14-16- Moun10Bike Changes to the back-end trackable service led to this notification being dropped. When it was added back in, the wrong template was chosen (it's currently using the adoption email template rather than "grabbed from holder" template). I've notified our engineering team. " with the holidays over, this should quickly be corrected by the engineering team.
  2. got this note in the mail tonight: This is an email from Geocaching.com letting you know that the travel bug DrNeal's Munster Personal Geocoin has been transferred to account "Im_Lost_Again". There is no need to respond to this email. the coin remains in my hands, but wondering how this happened
  3. your first mission would be to design a coin (hopefully you have some idea of what you would like your coin to look like,) or hire a geocoin designer, and decide how big you want the coin to be, and how many you want to have made you'll need some start up money to pay for the manufacture of the coins...here's the hard part...probably $800-$1000 (there is a list of geocoin manufacturers in the trackables section (click on play on the geocaching.com page, trackables , click next on geocoin home, and finally click on geocoin manufacturers . pick a manufacturer you feel comfortable with (do some asking around...i have a couple of favorites i'd be glad to share with you if you message me.) Facebook offers a lot of geocoin related pages...a good place to reach out and let people know about the coin.
  4. so far as i know there has only been one chanukah (yet another spelling - oy vey !,) coin produced, and that was a non-trackable mystery coin...there were 2 other coins in the series mailed out yearly starting with a Kwanza geocion, and a No-L geocoin. I asked about the chances of a hannukah coin being produced by a couple of the coin manufacturers years ago, and was told they just didn't feel there would be enough interest. sorry bubby.
  5. do you have the Halloween Hoopla 2015 Coin and the CacheCat II Geocoins? If either are of interest to you message me.
  6. how does one file a formal complaint with Groundspeak about someone continuing to virtually discovering my goecoins, after being asked to discontinue?
  7. I'm certain our complaints will be merged. I assume it is tuner1985...please correct me if I am wrong
  8. got a schnauzer seekers or any other dog themed geocoin actrivated or unactivated or a watering hole geocoin?
  9. I would like to purchase your peace frog
  10. I was also fortunate to receive one of these coins. my picture was a little blurry, but here it is: to send out such a mystery coin is truly a wonderful thought...thank you mystery giver !
  11. hoping you have a BN left after geocoinfest...let me know...or are you selling them now?
  12. did I miss em, or is there an expected date to start looking for them?
  13. some of the geocoin manufacturers offier proxy coins that you can release to replace your missing geocoin...nothing cheesy about it...keeps your coin moving ! stealing the coins is cheesy.
  14. do he numbers begin with the letters GC...if so it's probably the code for an event and not a tracking number
  15. I'm so sorry to hear this needs to be cancelled. My prayers go out to you and wish a fast healthy recovery. nothing major...just not sure if i'll be well enough to make the drive, but thank you.
  16. the title should be changed soon, but this year's gathering is cancelled due to health issues.
  17. limited to geocoin traders ...can this please be returned to the geocoin forum
  18. that time of year again. on friday 7-22-16 we will again be having a get together at our rv (space RV19), 6pm to 8pm. a chance to talk and trade geocoins, and of course, eat hot dogs. anyone interested should contact me either by pm on facebook (neal lepovetsky) or by e-mail...i'll also keep tabs on the forum, post your comments here. there will most likely be a formal trading time on friday and saturday in the main event building...this is usually a much smaller group, and things are a lot less hectic. those that can bring chairs are asked to do so. weenies, sides and drinks will be made available !
  19. keep me in mind for trades too...list available using the link below
  20. can we see a picture or have a link to a picture please?
  21. i have collected some geocoins too...I'm sure you are aware that coins that are activated and placed in caches are not for us to collect, they are for us to move on. so far as storing geocoins, I like lead dog coin pages (tese are made to hold coins, but first I remove them from the coin holders supplied by the sellers, and put them in PVC and Oil free coin flips (coins made with polyurethane and oils can damage your coins...copper coins esp,) my favorite are saflip . next my coins go into binders I purchase at the local mega mart...Meade binders have held up well for me . my wife also collects geocoins, but diplays hers on wall cabinets. so far as activating coins, I do, my wife does not, but then again, her coins stay at home...mine go to events and geocaching gatherings were people will discover many of them, and I get to do a lot of talking and trading with other collectors . activating your coins will decrease the value if you chose to sell one or all of them later on...I would advise against displaying unactivated coins at events...you take the chance of your tracking number being copied and activated by someone else. in my mind it boils down to do you want to display your coins for others to see, or not. coins that you send out traveling should be activated. be prepared that coins you send out traveling might disappear...sadly some who find them in caches might assume they are swag, or might simply steal them. don't send out any coins that you aren't willing to never see again...sadly, that's the chance you take. there's also a lot of fun to be had seeing your coins work their way across the nation or across the world ! edited to add I just took a look, and I have almost 3600 activated geocoins in my collection
  22. Hi drneal, safri is my geocaching nick: Elke Engels my real name. Somebody told me that you asked: normally I don't use blue forum and read more in the FB-group. Can I help you?
