  1. Just took the SD card out and will load using a card reader. Thanks again for the tips.
  2. Thanks for the help, now it seems that my computer does not pickup the external drive. Plugged in the USB and then booted the PN-40 and no externals show up. Is there a way of exchanging in the Topo USA program?
  3. I came here looking for an answer to my question of "send to GPS" function with Windows 8. Now it appears I will learn more in the PQ arena and should start using that to load caches into my PN-40. I will give it a try and thanks for the discussion. -Trekman27
  4. I generally use Firefox for the GPS to load caches etc. The new map system is difficult to navigate - you cannot grab and drag the map left or right, up or down. And you have to use the + and - to zoom, no roller zooming. Very inconvenient. So I tried it in IE and those functions work, but click on a cache and I get just a white narrow bar with no links or info on it. Do we have an option to go back to the old maps that worked so much better?
  5. Thanks Bull ... worked great.
  6. I have looked in the "Hide and Seek a Cache" for a way to see the latest published caches. But no find anywhere. How do the cachers that see then first thing in the a.m. and then claim FTF see what is brand new that morning? Am I just being blind on the website? -TrekMan27
  7. I have not gone through the science you are doing. I have spotted carved signs along trails frequently and checked my Garmin against the coords ... always good until the third decimal of minutes, so I have never given it much of another thought.
  8. I have a Manhattan Urban Cachers Taxi Series 2006 geocoin and cannot figure out the tracking number. I picked it up early in my geo days and did not know to log its possession, so it's still in our bag of geo-goodies and I would like to get it back on track. The only number on it that seems unique is the license plate number on the front but it's only 2 digits. Just does not seem like it could be right. Help??
  9. I am a newbie ... please, what is a "lock n lock"?? -TrekMan27
