  1. Looks like someone needed a little venting, but broad casting your anger is non-productive. I'm not sure about all the other approvers, but we love and respect the ones we have interacted with. This is in spite of the fact that my last two attempts to get a cache approved where rejected. The approver had a job to do and he did it in a respectful way. The fact that he caught something I overlooked the first time and then rushed the second attempt is by no means his fault. Geocache has had it's growing pains as the rules became established but I think they are reasonable now. The magic of getting a cache approved is for the stasher to follow the guidelines. If you think there's a reason you should be able to go around some of them, I'm sure your approver will consider your reasonable rebuttal. Temper tantrums will end any negotiation (in Geocaching or elsewhere). I believe asking to be an approver automatically discounts you from becoming one. If I'm not mistaking, all of the Groundspeak Approvers were tricked into the job. Had they been thinking clearly, they would have continued enjoying life, rather than putting up with your four letter attacks. BTW, Don't ever throw other approvers under the bus during your venting. I think you owe Krypton an apology on this thread. Very well stated.
  2. Well, if nothing else, it's a good way to hone up on one's typing skills!
  3. Now you can solve Tom's new one and have two you know the answer to, but won't have time to find!! Happy Turkey Day everyone!
  4. You mean... you mean...... you mean... you really LIKE me too??? Yep! It's a fact! All three of you stinkers are high on my list of likeable people!! Go figure!
  5. Hey, TDD.........I only refer to people I really, really, really like as a "stinker"!!!!!
  6. Now, as to the red herring recently suggested by tmkbk - "I have another question. How can three out of the area cachers (who had already gotten back home) get a FTF (in our area) within several minutes of the cache being published up in our area...AND the cache is so evilly camoed to boot? Hmmm? Hmmm?" a) Cachers from out of "the area" are really good! b] How does tmkbk know it was "evilly camoed" when she hasn't even touched it? c) How do you spell " S O U R G R A P E S ? " I think those three stinkers had advance notice and were caching with the cache owner!! Duh. Easy FTF's, huh??
  7. Oh, Zinnnnnnnnnnnnnnnng!! And a good one, too!
  8. Boga will have to answer the hike question. I was confused by the 1/1 rating, too. If you read the old logs lots of people, including kids, have found the cache, so I think you'll be fine. Go for it!
  9. I wouldn't mistake Dragon Head Cache with camping at Del Valle. The camp and the cache are many miles a part. That is unless you're really into hiking and don't mind one heck of a final climb/decent to get the cache, then reversing it. I'm not sure I could make that hike! I meant it was in the area, and when we camp, we often cache the surrounding area. I think we probably did pass on it because of the hiking! You darn near pass my cache Concannon Fodder as you travel from the camping to the Dragon Head Cache. But do I have to HIKE?? Or think too hard?? We're going again in April, so can we do it then?

  11. No, we haven't found that one and I'm not sure why because we regularly camp at Del Valle. Must have ruled it out because of not wanting to hike!! If anyone goes for that one beware of rattlesnakes at Del Valle. We've seen them there and even have a picture of one!
  12. GC104 Here you go. Does it have to be in the area of the challenge??
  13. Wow, we had fun, too. And even found 5 caches!!!!! Although it may sound cliche, it was so nice to see everyone again and meet some people we knew by name, but not in person. Hope to see you all again either at an event or out caching!!
  14. Get past temptation and go straight to COMMITMENT! On National Over-Eater's Day? Are you nuts?! [No need to answer the rhetorical question.]
  15. Get past temptation and go straight to COMMITMENT!
  16. So Turkey Day is: Thursday, November 27th, 2008 Camping Trip? Caravan down? Friday-Sunday? We were thinking before Turkey Day. Maybe we can get WD to put us all up!
  17. The Palm Springs area is loaded with caches. Wheeler Dealers have put out 780 caches. And they aren't "paperboy" caches, either. (Love that term!!) Anyone want to do a Palm Springs run??
  18. sorry ........... double posted it by accident.
  19. Congrats to you all!! Maybe sometime it can happen again. I read a log on one you did that day by a guy who did 191 in one day by himself!
  20. So what was your final cache count and are you finished logging them all yet??
  21. Yeah, but there's two of us so back to 73.
