  1. GSAK will not do this. I never used Geocache Manager. See if you can export from it in another format. Magellan offers the free program Vantage Point that works well for eXplorists, and works in Windows Vista. Tried Vantage Point and currently have it installed on my Vista laptop, but it doesn't import the .geo files that their old program created. I was hoping that it would just import that file but it only would allow me to import .gpx or .loc files. Unfortunately there is no other option to save the files as on the Geocahe Manager program. Magellan support has also been non-existent when I sent them an email on this issue. I greatly appreciate your help and ideas!
  2. Would the GSAK program convert the .geo files that the Geocache Manager program saved for all my geocaches? I didn't look into this before getting the new laptop and now having issues after I installed Geocache Manager and spent time updating all my caches. Thanks!
  3. I know its been 2 years since anyone has responded to the thread....but I am looking for the same answer. Geocache Manager saves the files in a .geo format in which the "new" Geocache Manager, VantagePoint doesn't import. Does anyone have a workaround for this? Thanks
  4. I am in need of some technical assistance from the Geocaching community. I have spent about 4 hours updating geocaches from my local area just to find out that I cannot use Geocache Manager on my new laptop with Vista. I am currently running a Magellan eXplorist 500 and am a regular member for geocaching. I have tried to look through the threads and searched and I have downloaded VantagePoint. My dilemma comes in when I tried to input the files from the Geocache Manager into VantagePoint. VantagePoint does not import the .geo files in which Geocache Manager creates. I am looking for the best way to not have to re-create the wheel to re-do all my caches and spend a ton of time. I have tried to Google an answer and was unable to find anything useful and Magellan customer service hasn't responded to my question within a week. So ultimately I am confused as to why a program from Magellan doesn't recognize a Magellan product that replaced it. Any help would be much appreciated and I would be in debt!!! Thanks so much in advance.
  5. Upwards of 750ish...... (I didnt think that there was that many!!!)
  6. Ok...Here is the deal. I have a Magellan eXplorist 500 and have a 2gig SD card in it. I have a few different geocache files saved on there. Most are a few kb. I did have a large one that I downloaded many many points into it a .gs file that is 83kb. I still have room on the card (it is not full). When I go to active setup to make that file active, I recieve an error that states: "Some Geocache data can't be read due to size limitation" Does anyone know what the size limitation is? I have contacted Magellan and am waiting to hear...and waiting...and waiting.... Anyone with any ideas or similar problems? I know that I can try to split up the file, but I would view that as a last ditch effort. Thanks in advance!! HSF
