  1. The pre-order does not seem to be available right now! I knew I should have ordered this morning!
  2. Wow! Those are amazing! If you are taking pre-orders, I would be interested in 2 sets.
  3. sold out! If you happen to get more of these coins, please let me know. I really like the antique bronze!
  4. I ordered from the 2nd mint and have not received the coin yet. From what I have seen with other international orders, it can take a little while to get through customs. Can anyone from geocaching.nl verify whether coins have shipped yet?
  5. I would like to be on the reserve list for an Antique Gold coin. Please also consider me as an alternate for anyone that drops off the v1 coin list (preference: 1 each of Bronze, Silver, Copper in that order)
  6. I agree with the others, your avatar design is great! Since it includes the word Dogs you could then have more flexibility of whether to include graphics on the opposite side of the coin. No matter what happens, I am definitely interested in the finished product!
  7. Please add me to the interest list for 1-2 coins in both versions.
  8. Please add me to the interest list. 1-2 coins of both versions.
  9. Yes, this is a great idea to honor someone so involved in geocacing. Like others, I would be interested in contributing to the fundraiser if more coins become available.

    Reservation submitted! Thanks again, Chris!
  11. Yep, same as above. I am definitely interested in the concept but curious about the execution. I like the idea of a micro coin! Make it as easy to spread throughout caches as possible!

Wow! Another awesome Crake design! I plan on purchasing 2 sets solo so I have one set to enjoy and the other to release. Just like a lot of others, this is seriously impeding my ability to purchase coins in moderation!
  13. Very cute coin! Ordered one of each metal! Thanks!
  14. aaagghh! Am I too late? I could not find this coin at coinsandpins.com (and I was just ordering the Compass Rose coins a few days ago and di not see it then either). If at all possible, I would love to order 2 of these...
  15. I am currently using this card in my Venture Cx and it has performed without issue. I purchased it when newegg.com had it reduced to 14.99 (after rebate) with free shipping. I've since purchased a Kingston model through buy.com for 12.99 after rebate. I highly recommend checking out techbargains.com for deals on microSD cards, that's where I have noticed sales on the two purchases above!
  16. FYI, just in case anyone prefers Kingston to USModular, Buy.com now has a Kingston 1GB microSD for $33.95 with free shipping. The deal also includes a $9 mail-in rebate and $10 instant savings by using Google Checkout. FInal cost after a $0.39 stamp and 10-12 weeks of waiting: $14.95! 17. gof1, thanks for clarifying that for me. I have not actually placed any of these yet, but had seen them in other caches. I plan on putting them in a Ziploc bag inside the cache to avoid the soggy animal issue. Same thing would go for temporary tattoos (saw quite a few recently in caches) as well as any small puzzle books, electronic devices, etc. that would not be so nice if wet.
  18. Just discovered the usefulness of Dollar General Stores yesterday. Picked up some LCD watches, 5pk hi bounce balls, 15-20pk animal growth capsules, 2pk of cars, etc. for $1 each. We also shop at the One Spot section of Target and have noticed some pretty cool swag at the bargain bin at Michaels. As a 31-year-old, I don't have much need for any of this stuff, but I do have a 7-year-old niece who insists on leaving something at each cache, regardless of whether she takes an item or not! We seem to agree that it is always better to walk up to a well-stocked cache than an empty one, especially for the kids.
  19. I cached for about a month before purchasing the City Navigator software. The purchase was mainly to avoid confusion when I was caching in other cities or parts of town I am unfamiliar with. I see the Topo software as much more handy when caching in non-suburban areas, and I'll probably be purchasing it as well in the next month.
  20. If you do not think they need an electronic compass or barometric altimeter (not really necessary for auto routing), I would recommend the Legend Cx or Venture Cx. The Legend Cx is $50 more than the Venture Cx since it is packaged with a mini USB cable (readily available if you own a Blackberry, digital camera, etc. or can be purchased at CompUSA for $15) and a 64MB micro SD card (which you could quickly fill - Buy.com has a 1GB micro SD for $12 after rebates and using Google Checkout). You can purchase a carrying case for $10-15 and still come out ahead of the Legend Cx. The Venture Cx can be had for ~$150 after $50 mail-in rebate and seems to be the no-brainer recommendation for anything Garmin that is not the 60Csx. Hope this helps. You really can't go wrong with any unit, just depends on what you need! [EDIT: I should mention I purchased a Legend Cx initially, only to return it for the Venture Cx after realizing the $$ and accessories difference did not work out in the Legend Cx favor...for me, at least]
  21. I use my Blackberry to check out cache info as well. I usually add caches to my watchlist in advance for easy loading, then visit the page as needed. I confess that I sometimes browse the forums from my Blackberry while walking my dog... The MobiPocket idea is a good one as it would work even with weak or no signal. My 7-year-old niece can get impatient just waiting for pages to load, so faster is always better. I also maintain Took and Left logs in MemoPad until I can get back to the website to log finds, as well as clues from multi-caches.
  22. planetgps.net has City Navigator NT North America v8 for $106.95 with free overnight shipping. i could not find a better deal on the Topo US CD.
