About two years ago I had a coin disappear while travelling. No big deal, it happens, you get used to it. In April of this year I got a log notice saying it had been found and then I got another that says "I would like present to you my new project "NLFYT" New Life for your Trackables. Enjoy !!! Where would they get the number? Since April it has filled 15 pages of logs. Should I contact the person who has done this? The latest log shows it being in a cache in the Czech Republic. I don't get how it went missing in Ontario Canada in an archived cache to someone's pocket in Europe. Has this happened to anyone else? Guiderchachi

I've heard only about 200 or so use that feature. I use that feature every single time I am on the site. It gives me a quick view of what is happening around my province.

I cached Venice in 2009. My old yellow Garmin eTrex had a tiny bit of trouble when the laneways were narrow but you very quickly move out into the open and get a reading back. If you like virtuals, you need to try this one: The Snail http://coord.info/GC7BFF It takes you to the centre of Venice, past street vendors to a quiet area. Have fun!

I will be spending a couple of days in the Cinque Terre region in April 2013. I have been researching caches in the lower part (The Lover's Walk area) and have noticed that some caches say the trail is closed. Where do I find updated information on this? I've traveled enough to know that it is hard not to look like a tourist when you are one! I too am heading to NYC this spring. Thanks for all the tips. One thing we are planning is to buy the City Pass. It gets us 6 different major sights for ~$60 and we get to skip the lines. I'm hoping to grab the Empire Strikes Back cache. Keep the ideas coming! I have returned. I managed 4 virtuals with no problems. Feel free to look at my profile to see which ones. They were all in Beijing with one at the Great Wall in Badaling. A fellow cacher attending the convention tried a couple of traditional micros in Shanghai but one he couldn't find and one had a police bike propped next to it. He left that one alone. I know when people travel they prefer the challenge of a traditional or a micro but I like to do virtuals. They are quick and easy and they allow me to log that country with no fuss, no muss, no muggles! Enjoy your trip CLF. It was an amazing place. I made this initial post quite a while ago. I leave in 5 more sleeps! I have a few virtuals bookmarked that I plan on doing, at least one in each of Beijing anf Shanghai. I like virtuals when i travel as they are quick and easy. When I get back, I will let you know how it went. GC

I always choose the "search with google maps" option in the "Hide and Seek a Cache" page. Then I type in the city or hotel address. Then I just zoom in on the area. The caches are pictured and if you are a premium member, you can choose which ones it will show. There may be an easier way to do this, but it works for me. Where are you going in Eurpoe? I have been before and am leaving again in two weeks. I may have some cache ideas for you. Guiderchachi

I have been at this a few years and it seems there is always something new to learn. I am going on a trip to Europe in April 2011 and China in August 2011. I always look around locally for TBs that have goals to go far away, retrieve them and take them with me. In a TB hotel close to me are a couple of bugs in races. Can I take more than one with me and once in my possession have them visit whatever caches I do? Is it considered cheating if I take them to more than one? What if I don't find a cache big enough to drop them in over there, can I bring them home and drop them somewhere close by, after they have logged miles in a few caches? I know races are for logging as many miles as possible in a period of time. I would love to take them with me, but don't want to give an unfair advantage or cheat. Any help in this area would be greatly appreciated. Thanks. Guiderchachi

Hi, I was in Paris in 2007 with a group of students. Personally when I travel, I like Virtual caches because they are quick and I usually see something quite different and interesting. There is a Virtual at the Louvre, in the statue garden. Who is She? (Paris) by John Stead (GC6612) Also, if you are going about the city using the subway (BEST way to travel) then go to Liberty's Flame Liberty's Flame by otterbuff (GC63DB). Why don't you just go put it into the cache that you logged it in when you returned? Put it in and drop it? Wouldn't that work. You can then write a note on the TB page recording what you did and that you didn't have the rules right. Then someone else can retieve it and move it legally. I am sure the race owner and TB owner will be fine with that.

I have looked at the threads about all the regulations for caching in China. I am planning a trip in August of 2011. Am I allowed to take my GPSr? There are caches listed for the areas I am going to so I should be able to do them, right? Any help is appreciated. Guiderchachi Canada

you need an iPhone to use iGoogle? Maybe not, but that link had only images, nothing I could use so I made the assumption that I needed an iPhone. Most iThings need and iSomething in order for it to work. Or again maybe I'm wrong. I have no desire for an iPhone so I have no knowledge of iApplications.

That's fine but I don't have an iPhone in order to use iGoogle. Google translator gave me the same as above.

I am getting ready for a trip from Newfoundland that includes some stops in Quebec. I have found a cache near one of the campgrounds that I will be staying at but it is all in french. Last year while traveling in Germany, I picked up a TB with a small screwdriver attached. I put it in my backpack and forgot about it, intending to bring it home to Newfoundland to place. When we got to Frankfurt Airport, I was putting something away when I found it. I had forgotten to pack it in my regular luggage! About 100m away from security was a post office. I bought a pack of those small padded envelopes, popped it in and mailed it to myself! I was so afraid that Airport security would take it (it being a hefty pointy object) and with the language difference that I wouldn't be able to explain it. About a week after I got home, it arrived in my mail and I then placed it in a local cache. It is still travelling and has since shown up in one of my caches.

The Lock-n-Lock containers I have seen are made by Star-frit. If they are as good as any other Star-frit product, then I'll be getting some.

I have two personal coins that I activated as soon as I got them because I thought it was the thing to do. Now I have a chance to enter an unactivated coin into a contest but I don't own any. Can I deactivate one of the ones I have? Is it possible? Just curious. Guiderchachi
