pbarr86, My wife uses the Hotsync program quite a bit. How can I disable it and have her use it when she needs it? Thanks for the lead. Maybe that will be the answer.

After some research and advise from fellow posters, purchased a SporTrak Pro and Streets and Destinations software. Am now trying to download maps to the unit, but my computer won't recognize that the unit is hooked up to the serial comm port. Anyone have similar problems? I tried a message search, but without success. Another question- why don't they make a connection with a USB plug. It seems that it would be much easier. Thanks for your help.

Thanks for the information, robree. I should also have mentioned that I like the unit because, like other Magellans, it floats. I foresee dropping it off the side of the boat at least once. I'll read the links and make a decision soon. Thanks again.

We are brand new to this sport and will be purchasing a unit soon. I will be using the unit for geocaching and fishing. I was at a Costco warehouse store and they had a package for sale with a Magellan Sportrak Map, the Streets and Destinations CD and computer cable, a suction cup cradle, the cigarette lighter adapter and a neoprene case for $239 after rebate. This unit probably has much more capability than we as a family will need, but I wanted to get a unit with a CD and I like the other accessories. We are eager to get started. What do you all think?
