  1. Garmin 60Csx & Lowrance GlobalNav 12 Have had the GlobalNav for 8 Yrs and it has never failed me for getting out of new ares I have not been in before. used mostly for hunting. got the Garmin about a month ago and have been using it for geocache and I really like it. Would Recommend to anyone wanting a new GPS.
  2. I have a Lowrance GlobalNav12 I have had for eight years it still works but the rubber pad covering the buttons fell of this year and It got wet. it still turns on but was a little damaged. Lowrance told me they have not had replacement parts for that model for quite a while. So I upgrade to the Garmin 60CSx. I use my GPS all year long and in all conditions get a good case that you can keep it in while hiking etc...and it will last a long time
  3. Get the 60CSx you will really like it. I have one and it is great. Garmin also offers the micro flash memory cards for selected areas. it is a little cheaper that getting the full blown topo program for the whole U.S.
  4. I just bit the bullet and bought the GPSmap 60CSx and I love it. I had a no color Lowrance for the last 8 years and it finally died on me. Go for the color screen it is really a great feature and the battery life (compared to my old Lowrance) is amazing for just two AA's. It is worth the extra cost if you use your GPS very much. As far the mapping features that Garmin has for Topo and Streets are good streets are better then Topo but base map that comes on the unit is helpful on major roads but lacks the detail the topo program provides. The option to be able to add the maps is a great feature. Good Luck! Hope you get what you wanted
