  1. ***steps out of the shadows*** Well, uhhhh, yeah -- HI! Been lurking on the forums intensely for about 3 months now. I'll generally come in for info or to check a topic and then end up lmao over some lovely verbal battle. Don't know why I find so much humor in the posts, but hey! maybe I'm easily amused. **dons a black trenchcoat and a pair of sunglasses*** Catch y'all later, and I'll be enjoying your posts!
  2. Do the quotation marks need to come out of the HTML? ***lost, but that's ok ***
  3. I usually go cachin' with my sister but recently it's either go by myself or not go at all....I think it's suddenly "not cool" for her to be hangin' with me or something. I guess it's all a part of the growing up process. I do take my dog most of the time though; he seems to really enjoy it, and it helps him to not snore during the night 'cause he'll be too tired!! Every now and then my Mom will express an interest in doing one or two, so we go out, do a couple, and then I think she has to recuperate for a few months before voicing an interest again! Oh well -- such is the geocacher's way of life...heaven forbid that I try to take a friend with me *again*. I did that once and boy, it did NOT go well. She didn't see what the point was...frankly, does there have to always be a point to something? I'm finding that I kinda like cachin' alone though. Nature seems more vivid when it's all you can hear.
  4. Hey, yeah, ok -- I'll be counted too! I kinda stumbled onto the geocaching site while looking for "mine exploration" pages in the calico area (CA)...some how, a calico cache page came up, and 3 days later I had bought myself a nice, shiny, new ol' yeller. It was meant to be!!! My sister always comes along, and I'm happy that it's something that will entice her to hike with me (whether she knows it or not!). And sometimes our Mom...and many of my friends (female and male) have been introduced to the "wonderful world of caching"....and--wait, shall I go on??? Na...'nough said. When life gives ya dirt, make berms!
  5. Thanks guys! That cleared up my confusion very well!! I filled out the form, hit submit (ah!, that was exciting) and now it's just a wait to see if it's approved. When life gives ya dirt, make berms!
  6. I just hid my first cache and now on to the reporting of it. However, this is where I'm slightly stumped: the lat/long boxs on the report form are listed as being in such a format: Latitude (N/S HDDD MM.MM) Longitude (W/E HDDD MM.MM) So, could somebody show me (show the newbie ) exactly how I would list a latitude coord of N34°09.200 on the form? Because from what I'm seeing, the last decimal minutes (.MM) don't match up with how many I've got on that coord (ie, .200).....am I really being blind here? When life gives ya dirt, make berms!
  7. quote:Originally posted by Dru Morgan:A west coast chain called "In and Out Burgers" is frequently manipulated to say, "In and Out Urge" You know, I've lived in southern California all my life (HAH, 17 years!!) and I've never seen that particular manipulation....would be great though! One I've seen, although I think somebody is using it as a sig in the forums too, struck me as odd because it was on with many, many other stickers plainly stating that this person was a dedicated vegan. God was my co-pilot, but we crashed in the mountains and I had to eat Him! Another one was: Confuscious say: man who stands on toilet is high on pot! Of course, that one was stuck on a wall above a toilet so that you had to stand on it to read the sticker... When life gives ya dirt, make berms!

  9. I'm 17; my sis is 10.....we love the sport -- I love hiking and she loves the "treasure" hunt, but as long as it gets her out there hiking with me and actually enjoying it, it's all good!!
