  1. Good advice - I just posted to GC.com help
  2. Community (and GC.com) we, in Connecticut, need some help... There are a few people who are smashing caches and videotaping them on instagram (see https://www.instagram.com/thegeosmashers/). They recently destroyed a series that my ten and twelve year old kids set up Here are the caches that we are aware of so far although I think there are many others - https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC5FXFZ_om-nom-nom - https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC24VA1_bullets-the-blue-trail - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XV7_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-tree - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XVA_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-lumber - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XTT_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-spikey-fallen - http://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XTX_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-guardrail - https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XV1_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-waterview - https://www.geocaching.com/geocache/GC62XTN_hubbard-park-pavillion-loop-highways We have tried reporting the Instagram account but nothing so far. I know with premiunm caches there is a way to see everyone who has looked at the caches but I am hoping someone from GC.com can do this for regular caches and try to track back similar accounts who logged in to see these around the time they got destroyed and relay that to the police Or any other ideas people have from similar incidents. We are not trying to 'get' anyone so much as see this stop and justice get served. Thanks in advance
  3. Anyone else still waiting? I signed up at 2am on the day it opened but no trackable or e-mail...
  4. I agree with people who want the option. Obviously ECs in countries like Spain, France and Italy should be in native languages. I have 9 of them in Tanzania which has many languages but mostly Swahili. I dont think many Masaii have a GPS and go looking for caches. Rather it is tourists from all over the world (most of which speak english). If you look at my Kili Climate Zones cache there are over 500 hits from 43 countries, only 3 of which are actually from Tanzania.
  5. I think I am the first (and only so far) Platinum Earthcache member in Connecticut. I really love the cool places you get to see and learn about Profile After completing the summit of Mt Kilimanjaro I was disappointed not to see many caches in Tanzania so I have 8 (and one more on the way) to highlight this amazing country.
  6. Have some left and want to get rid of inventory - am now selling them for $8 each plus shipping ($2.50 for 1-3). Ping me if interested. Can lower more for larger quantities.
  7. Agreed. I created a cache but necver published it called "KDubs Coin Bank" - then I archived it and now I keep all my coins there
  8. It is all nickel - exactly the same as the one you have
  9. Yes the demand was high so I produced another 100
  10. I live in Connecticut, and there is an old legend about "The Leather Man." Here is his story... Leatherman once roamed SW Connecticut and SE New York from 1858 to 1889. He traveled a 365-mile loop between the Connecticut and Hudson rivers. Approximately every month he would repeat his journey. The man spoke primarily with grunts or gestures and dressed in crudely stitched leather from his hat to his shoes. The suit was made of soft-tanned calfskin leather and weighed about sixty pounds. He would sleep outside year-round mostly in caves around Connecticut and New York. There are many geocaches at locations of Leatherman caves including one at his supposed tombstone in New York. I own two of them in Conncecticut and wanted to combine his interesting story with my first venture into creating a Geocoin. The net result is the "Leather Man's Circuit Geocoin" which is a commemorative to this early geocacher. On the front is the Leather Man with his date of birth and death. On the back is a map of his ciruit, with a leather-texture background. These coins are trackable on GC.com with a unique icon. I am asking $10 each plus S&H ($2.50 for 1-3, $3 for 4-5, e-mail for others). I am only shipping to the US at this time. If you want some, please paypal me at KerryWills@aol.com. I will ship next day in a bubble mailer so you can have them for Christmas. Thanks
  11. Yes I do have a few left - please email me at KerryWills@aol.com first
  12. Wow - didnt see the price at first.
  13. Note that book was published LeatherMan Book The book and coin might make a good holiday gift for geocachers! Still have a few coins left
  14. Also for those interested there is a book coming out about the Leather Man in the next few weeks...
  15. Great - glad everyone likes them. Still have a few left....
  16. Ok since i have gotten so much interest I will consider shipping internationally. I work a lot and it is hard to get to the post office to ship, so if you are interested please contact me by end of day Monday and I will make a run mid-week to ship. Let me know how many you want and I can figure out shipping costs. Thanks
  17. I think Russ is saying that International Shipping is "Not Offered" and he lives in the UK- ergo he is excluded. Yep, no International Russ I bought an extra. If you would like to trade just let me know I bent the rules and will ship him some...just hard to get to the post office for the International orders.
  18. What do you mean by excluded? I still have more - have sold a little over half in the first week I got them.
  19. Enjoy - they shipped today
  20. You can use this bookmark to see the Leatherman Caches Link to Bookmark
  21. There will also be a book coming out by Dan Deluca. He actually walked me to the two known sites for my caches.
  22. it says "the old leatherman" - it is kind of in the shadows. cool coin! rsg Thanks RedShoesGirl - you are correct. I tried taking different photos with several cameras and they all came out about the same.

Note that if you want more than 5, please send me an e-mail to confirm I still have some in quantity. Same thing if you see this post beyond the middle of September since I assume they will move fast. I only made 250 and was able to get the custom icon. Order Here Sorry but no international orders
  24. Ok a friend of mine and I are debating this. When you first create a cache, you automatically watch it but are you listed as 1 person watching this cache or is that someone else? Every time I post a cache it defaults to 1 user watching, which I assume is me. However, we have found a few caches (Link) where there isnt a watch list. Can someone help us to clarify what happens Thanks
