    Winter Caching

Yup don't let the white stuff stop you. This is the best time for caching.Bring snowshoes, exta batteries, fiberglass pole and poke in there. The trees are bare and the signal are perfect. Also bring a 12 pack of hotdogs and beverage of choice along a good fire and you have the making of a perfect day out.Sunscreen for the nose !!! When I was using a C Band satellite dish for TV, twice a year (Spring & Fall) when the satellite that the dish was aimed at was directly in front of the sun we would loose the signal for a few minutes. I'n sorry I forget all the proper terminology but perhaps a GPDr has similiar problems. Paul N 44 54.474 W 63 46.979 Paul the name for this phenomenon is call a " sunburst ".This is when the sun and the satelite and the antenna on the ground are in perfect alignement. It happens in the spring and fall equinox. When I take a picture of my etrex to try to show that it has 0.00 out at the cache site all I get (9 out of 10 times) is my hand holding the etrex and blurry numbers. Needless to say i am wasting alot of film. It's just a 35mm camera. Haven't gone to digital yet. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance. EliJoMikMiNi I had that problem and found the cure, make the jump,go digital.Get something no lest then 640x480 pixels and you'll be OK for geocaching.I got one on eBay for dirt cheap{$34.ºº} at the beginning of FEB and never look back.It had the programm for downloading and tweak the photos,ac adapter, serial cable.Largan 350 mini.Fits in my pocket shirt. 6. Yes LOLOL I've been waiting for almost a year and finally it's here.Updated 4 GPSr to ver 3.15 last tuesday night with the boys and everyone was running outside once the receiver was initialized.Came in from the test and some had mix feelings, but in all were satisfied with it by the end of today and this weekend will be the proving point. So far me personnaly,I'm very please with it and can't wait to find my first cache with the new update. Will post anything, bad or good, after this weekend, but I'm sure that the ver 3.15 will be it.The geocaching community might have found a cure to the hula wave or drunken bee dance.LOLOL MadGPS
