  1. i dont move or discover fake coins. i think the point of caching was to be the finding of the stuff via a gps, not hiking all over enjoying the view. yeah, hiking/exploring-style caches are fun, views are nice, being outdoors is great, but i can (and do) do all that without geocaching. when i'm out specifically for geocaching i like the excitement of the finding of the stuff, and if the stuff is fake stuff its disappointing stuff, especially if i thought it was going to be extra special stuff like geocoins. and stuff. ps - stuff.
  2. email sent - hope i got in in time!
  3. order sent! another beautiful coin, and with such special meaning. thanks!
  4. i got a super cool black nickel Bit O Luck coin.
  5. I got one of these coins on a cold Christmas Eve And I thought "Gee, what poem could I re-weave?"... 'Twas the night before Christmas, when all through the house not a creature was stirring, not even a mouse; The decorations were hung by my father with care, in hopes that I would get off work, and would soon be there. The children weren't nestled all snug in their beds, my brother at his wife's family home, and I at work instead; My mamma in her 'kerchief, and Dad in his cap, Had just settled down when on their door I did rap, Inside their old house there arose such a clatter, as they made a delicious dinner to surely make me fatter. After dinner to the stockings we flew like a flash, the argument of too many gifts for me I tried to rehash. My father exclaimed with a hearty HoHo, shut up ah you mouth, start opening, lets go! When, what to my wondering eyes should appear, but an envelope adressed to me, from me, right here! With hands all a flutter, so lively and quick, I knew in a moment it must be St. Nick. I opened this envelope that called me by name, I knew not what it was, myself I now blame; This poem needs a line here that rhymes with Vixen, and another one here that sounds just like Blitzen. Larger packages I send there and my folks will call, as the mailbox at my apartment just isn't too tall. But when this little envelope poked its head out and said Hi! the surprise was on me as you can see why. So into the envelope my fingers they flew, as my folks crowded 'round - they wanted to see too. And then, in a twinkling, the pudding was the proof a sparkly little geocoin stocking, it wasn't a spoof! As I held it in my hand, and was turning it around, a little green note quickly was found. The nice mini elf from his head to his foot, was offering well-wishes without any soot. Part of the poem the coin had on its back also a short message for language skills I lack. The top of the coin like a sparkling blueberry the front and the back as red as a cherry. Santa holding a stocking and standing in snow and a festive Christmas tree, its star all aglow. An ammo can resting in the snow at his feet even showing the year, wow what a treat! Santa's broad face and his round little belly seems ready to shake like a bowful of jelly. This coin is so special I'll put it on a shelf and laugh whenever I see it, in spite of myself; I've been up all day and I need to go to bed, I hope you like my poem, my brain is almost dead. This gift is special and its collectable - that's a perk! I wonder who you are but I won't go berserk. To include a poem with the coin is what you chose so I wanted to thank you in a way other than prose. I hope my silly rhyme hasn't made you bristle I've followed the original poem straight as a missle. So let me exclaim, ere I log out of sight, "Happy Christmas to all, and to all a good-night!"

  7. So can we safely assume this was a lie? I too have emailed and emailed with no responses. I had ordered and paid for 5 coins. Thats a lot of money to steal. I've been very polite and nice thus far, but Team Red Devil is now officially on my poopy people list. What did they do with all the coins they didn't ship? just kept them all?
  8. I guess i shouldn't be reading coin forums while at work - now my coworkers want to know what the heck i'm laughing about. also, i'm claiming dibs on a full set of *orkfish coins if they get made.
  9. I think C4 made a great little post, that no one commented on, so I will... What if C4 had actually sold it? Gasp! The horrors! As someone else posted, we are all human! I'm sure a claim could be made (although I'm not making it, I'm trying to stay neutral and not offend anyone as I may have done in the past ) that MAYBE at least one of the sales was made without even considering the origin of the coin. That is, just like C4 said, MAYBE at least one of the sellers didn't remember that it had been a gift or trade or whatever. When you have a bazillion coins (I only have half a bazillion myself) I'm sure it COULD possibly be easy to forget which coins are super special and which are regular special, especially with the stresses of whatever is prompting a coin-nut to unload their coins. Personally, I can tell you where I got every single one of my coins , but that's just me, and everyone is different. now, lets all sing koombayah!
  10. Hi all, might be a simple answer, but i dunno. I recently acquired a bunch of ammo/medical cans, at a great price online, like this one.... when they came I noticed they did not have their gaskets, and therefore did not close tightly. I would like to make these functional with some sort of a gasket. I know there are gasket materials at auto parts stores and such, but what do I need to buy? It needs to stick to only the inside of the lid, and not the container where it will touch when closed. i tried some self stick tape, no good. tried some rubber window gasket but couldn't find the right size. help! thanks!
  11. Why do I limit myself now? It used to be all about the icons for me, but alas, who the heck really cares about icons? Now I just collect for the coins. From people I know (in person or online), from my home state of California, and ones that just appeal to me in a way most others don't. Oh yeah, and the cost was crippling me! I thought I could make back some of the money I had spent on coins by selling my I-10 coins instead of doing the thing with the mints for free coins etc. When I found out what coins like that really would cost to make (much much more than $6 by the way), I realized that was a silly goal. I made them anyway, because I loved my design and so I could have traders. When I started wondering if I could break even on them I started to question why I had spent so much money on "worthless" coins, both mine and my collection. So now I only buy according to my "rules" as described above. In closing... I'm definately still addicted and I can't see myself ever selling my collection!
  12. think about this: you have a new coin, do you start a thread in the Sales forum or the Discussion forum, or both forums? I can see some issues with trying to split them up, and trying to moderate them to keep them separate might involve some crazy decisions at to what is a sales discussion and what is a discussion discussion. i think the "one coin one thread" rule is a necessary evil to keep the forums sanity intact (or at least to keep the INsanity to a minimum).
