I know some that might be a 5/5 due to the current weather conditions. Two county parks in Fayette County have Caches in them one could even be extreamly had to do. The parks are closed but some people find a safe way to park on the gravle and walk in. Snowshoeing might be easyer right now. Thank you. I ended up re-registering under a differnt user name and it worked great once I did that. So I guess the system did not like my user name. I have not tried to get back on line there today but as of last night all was working well. Thanks!

Does anyone have TravlerTags? We just found one today and I tried to log on and the web site seems to be having major troubles. I was able to creat a username and get a password but now can not get back onto the web site. Does anyone know has the site been having trouble? Just wondering. Thanks.

Welcome. As our name say's we are a team. Me (MOM), my husband (DAD) and our two kids. So far Dad has not been able to come along because he was working. But we still are a family so that is why the name. I am hoping this summer we can plan a family vacation and get Dad out Geocaching along the way. I agree with the caching with kids, it is lots of fun. My kids love it. But Micro's are not for them, they want treasure at least at their current age of 9 1/2 and 5 3/4. So I look for caches that not micro's. I do not have a prem. membership yet but am thinking about it. So far I just look at caches in our area I want to find and see if they are micro's and if they I do not down load them to my GPS. Good Luck Geocaching!

Normaly it is me and our two kids a girl age 9 and a boy age 5. So far hubby has not been able to go with the three of us. We did take my Dad with us over Christmas Break. He wants to go again next time we go visiting if the weather and time allow. Hubby hopes to go sometime but normaly he is working when me and the kids go. Though we have not done a lot of finding yet the few we have found have been fun and lots of great out door hiking and more.

I have been working on doing just that, slow but sure. We are putting together our own cache to hide and I wanted some CITO bags in it. I always carry bags with me and have always carried out when there is trash to carry out. So around NE Iowa as we go geocaching we will be putting at least one to two film canesters with a bag in them in the caches we visit from here on out. I just lable them CITO Bag. That is what I have seen in other caches.

I work for a local conservation board. Our park ranger found a cache that is hidden in one of the parks in the dumpster once. Even though we currently do not have a policy or application for Caches in our recreational activities I have contacted all of the owner's of caches that are currently in our facilities. Only one owner has not responded back to my contact. But luckly this owner had and I was able to contact him and get the cache container to him. It needed some help. I was also glad he had the cache name and waymark GC#'s on it. It makes it easyer to find the owner that way to let them know if you did find it by accedent who to let know it needed attention. So far no other's to my knowleges have been bothered. This one that was has been hidden in a much better spot that will keep mugglers away.

Ok, I have been reading and looking for a good deal on a MicroSD for my Garmin eTrex Venture Cx. I found this one though Amazon. Is it a good deal? It is a 1GB. I see other's have listed them in other post's many where higher in price though, so I am worried this one might not be a good deal. Where have you gotten your MicroSD. You can purchase a carrying case. Mine has a clear window on it so you can see the screen thought it. I does not cover all of the yellow but a lot of it. I purchased one not to cover the yellow but to give protection to the screen. It also has a built in belt clip and a layett holder on it that keeps the unit up right when I moved the layett to that holder. I like the yellow a lot! Easy to find.

I have not gotten mine yet. Hmmmm! I have been very careful to look though the mail. I wonder where it ended up. It has been over a month and a half. Yicks!

Thanks Team CDCB and everyone else for the information. I will look at the size charts when I search. I also of course read the description too for help on knowing what type of cache it is. I do not mind micro's, I like looking for them my self, just not with the kids. I am sorry if anyone is mad about my post. I just feel that if the cache is only a log paper or papers with out room for even something to write with than it should be called a micro with it's sign that is all. But that is my feeling and very few other's. It is a free country and everyone can do as they want. I just have to read carefully so when I have the kids I do not make them unhappy not finding treasure. I how ever love my self to find micro's because they are so much fun. I have noticed a big explosion of caches in our area which is cool. But I have also noticed that many of them though labled a traditional cache are in reality a micro. They even say in the discription they are a log with out a anything to write with and a very small container. How can this happen? Does the person reviewing the cache not read things over carefully? Do they not see that the discription of the cache container and log make it a micro cache not a traditional one? It is frustraing. I do not mind micro ones for me to find but my kids do not like them because there is no "treasure". So I avoid the traditional one's that should be labled micro one's when taking the kids out with me looking for caches. Now I know we have not found many but we are slowly doing it as we go. What is your feeling's on this. Should the owner be forced to change the lable to micro cache or should it stay labled a traditional one when it is NOT!

It should. I own a Venture Cx and the owner's manual I have has both the Venture Cx and the Legend Cx in it. On page 13 of my book it talks about averaging the waypoint's location. You can also do it another way if you mark a waypoint then once you mark it at the bottom there are three choices from left to right there is Avg Map and OK. You can push the Avg button and then save and then ok to save the new Avgeraged waymark. I have done both the way the owner's manual says and the way I talk about second. I hope this helps you. Yes, you can set paypal up to pay out of you checking accounty. I have mine set up to do either checking or credit card. Normaly I do credit card but sometime the person you are purchasing from want payment from the checking account set up only.
