  1. Hi! And Happy Thanksgiving.... if anyone is interested, I have designed and am adding this "No Orange Required" art to my new caches to let fellow cachers know that a cache is in an area accessible without orange during the hunting season. Feel free to use it yourselves if you'd like. If you'd like a different size, let me know and I'd be glad to sent one to you!
  2. As the owner of a travel bug that was placed OUTSIDE a cache, I have to say DO NOT leave them outside a cache they do not fit in. One of my bugs was left outside a cache on its very first stop with bad results. I am sure the same thing could have happened if it had been left IN a cache, but these bugs have enough work cut out for them just being left in a cache. They dissapear... Never get logged in/out but are moved... They are taken and don't get logged in for long periods... please don't leave them outside a cache and make their travels harder.
  3. ahh... I see... a cat fight. Who wants Wailing Banshee to give us the coords so we can go watch next time?
  4. Wailing Banshee... does your post mean your cat beat you into caching? Or you were in fear for you life at home?
  5. Here it is a year later... we finally made it back to the Lost Children's cache last weekend. It was nice to go back to the one that started it all. Thanks to all the local cachers for making this so fun. I hope to place a cache or two this week. Happy Caching! Thanks to all of you who shared your cache stories! Almost 500 visits to my question and only 28 replys..... how did the rest of you get involved?? (I use to be a lurker too - LOL)
  6. It was snowing in Altoona, PA yesterday, and a few days ago too. Just a sputtering, but enough to say..... aww... it's snowing!! What happened to fall???
  7. Last year about this time my husband took me to the Lost Children of the Alleghenies Monument. He found it out wandering around a few years ago. We went driving around one day and he showed it to me. When we came home I started searching for more information on the internet about it. I came across a few things, one of which was the cache page for it Lost Children of the Alleghenies We haven't made it back there yet, but plan to go soon. So how did everyone else get started?
  8. Now you guys have me thinking about PDAs again. I have been thinking of getting one, did not realize that you could use them for caching. And the whole printing the cache sheets is starting to get kind of unorganized, and on top of that, we take off on a whim some days, I take the GPS, the digital camera, cell, etc. (my father-in-law says I must love gadgets) not planning to stop at a cache, then later see one marked on the GPS and think... uh, that is really close, but was it a virtual, traditional.. and end up NOT stopping because we don't know what we are looking for. I had been looking at the Palm Zire... kinda cheap and could get me started, but do any/all of these programs work with it?
  9. looks like the coords for the 2nd one are up, posted about 1/2 hour ago
  10. I could run OSX on my laptop, but not my desktop machine. (But I don't have it anyhow - been considering it though.) I don't have any OSX software and still TONS of OS 9 compatible stuff. The time is coming where I am sure I will HAVE to change over though. For now, 9 and Netscape for this game I am afraid. (But it works!!) LOL
  11. Yeah... I'm not thrilled with Netscape either, but it gets me into the Magellan site, and IE doesn't for whatever reason. So until I can figure it out, or the hunt is over, I'll put up with it.
  12. I had to download Netscape 6. It seems a bit slower that IE even with a cable connection, but it works. I think I got it at Macdownloads.com - Don't give up! We can get those treasures!! Mac users unite!
  13. Are any of you who can't log on using a Mac (system 9.x) and IE? I was able to get on for a few days, then all of a sudden.... nope. Tried and tried... even tried with 3 different Macs at different locations and it won't let me log in. I switched over to Netscape (way slower) but I can log in with Netscape. My guess is they upgraded some kind of security settings and the Mac IE just doesn't like it. Just a thought, but it worked for me.
