  3. KandRS, I dont have a Vista in my posession or I'd give it a try... If you were to go to your local hardware store and get a little 4-40 thread screw and give it a try, you'd know... Be careful not to thread it too far in, I'm always afraid this could cause problems... Cache On!! ~Bill Team Flushingrouse
  4. For those emailing me looking for more lanyard clips. I've gone ahead and made some more.. See here: http://home.wi.rr.com/lcdcreations/lanyards.htm Thanks! Happy Cachin' --Bill

  6. Paul from MI **** Got your order.... Is your email address correct? I keep getting returned mail... Trying to send you confirmation.. ~Bill
  7. The ring is just a standard type keyring...EXCEPT, it's pure brass (a bit harder to find).. Won't mess with the internal compass on most of todays models... To answer your question, the ring is doubled.. I've said before, I'm not trying to get rich off of these. I do however, get some satisfaction out of making something other cachers/outdoor people can make good use of... Everyone seems to be happy with the little buggers... In order to make them, I order all the parts separately... I have to cut down the length of thread on the screw, round it off a bit, drill the hole, apply the rubber o-ring and then if it's supposed to get a lanyard, I cut some of the metal clip and whatnot off of those... I get the lanyards in a bunch 20 or so at a time... Looking for stronger feeling lanyards... I don't totally care for the last batch.. If they end up costing any more, maybe I'd have to raise the price a bit... I dunno... Thanks for your ?'s... Now, lets get out there and find some caches!!!! ~Bill
  8. We're both up to around $ 0.37 so far... But now with gas prices the way they are... Oh well... I'm just enjoying making something others are finding usefull..
  9. I don't have one in my posession but as far as I can tell the eXpolrist and the meridian have the same battery screw attachment arrangement.... I had one break on me and that's the reason I started messing with all this... Stunod's actually the one that really helped to get this thing going... If the eXplorist has the same #4-40 eyelet in the back.. These would work nicely... FWIW....~Bill
  10. **Bump** I've got 20 of these things ready to go at the time of this posting.... FYI ~THX

  14. I found a couple more while digging around... Here's the question though-- Do I order more parts? How many people are interested? I've had a few other requests... Watch for the Lanyard page to fire back up again real soon... Bookmark: http://home.wi.rr.com/lcdcreations/lanyards.htm Thanks again for asking.... Yes, they are now brass rings too!! Happy Cachin' ~Bill

  18. I am assuming you what to change the name so when you export the file it has the GC number? If so: Click export when the dialog box comes up click the ? help button on the bottom row when the help screen comes up, click the box that says 'Cache description format' a cache/waypoint deccription box will appear click the underlined words 'special tags; I think you want the third line down %code (personally I use %drop 2) who needs the GC as they are all GC?) The get back to the export screen and put in %code or %drop2 in the Cache description format box That should set you free? Here's my $.02 on the whole export thing... I like to use "%typ1C%drop2" for my export. this way the first letter in the new code gets changed to "M" for Multi Caches-"Y" for unknown-"E" for Events-"T" for traditionals and so on.... This way when looking at a list/gps screen, I can tell just from the Code what type of cache it is... Comes in handy when we have the kids along, or not much time before dark... There it is for what it's worth anyhow...
  19. You guys are the best!! Yup, I had the "del" command in the wrong file!! After moving it to the .bat file, all is well. I had to add a couple of quotes and stuff like that but, it's going away all by itself now! Thanks to all for the help! You should see me now---giving myself high-fives!! Wife and kids think I'm going nuts!! Not too bad for some dumb old carpenter...
  20. I don't know what I'm doing wrong in regards to this... I added the line both Before and After the EXIT at the end and it still leaves the "new.gpx" on my desktop... Some more digging I suppose... It's not too difficult to drag the file over to the trash either but, I just thought..... Thanks for your help!! ~Bill
  21. I've just got to say that I'm having a blast with this automating thing..!! I'm no programmer whatsoever but, I like to "tinker" with this sort of thing... First off, here are the things I wish to do... Get a PQ for my zip code 53089 No problems here Export to HTML Problem here is I have to create a "new.gpx" in order to change the codes so my HTML,Plucker,S&T,Mapsource, etc. all match.. Export to Streets and TripsNo problems here Export to MapsourceNo problems here..Really no problem once USB support for the 60cs is working.. All of the above is really no problem... Now, I'm wondering if there's a way I can make the "script" automatically delete the "new.gpx" file.. Here's a copy of my .txt file.. # Load latest pocket query for 53089 zip code LOAD file="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\14737.gpx" Database="default" # Export New GPX Export Type=GPX File="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\new.gpx" # Load New GPX LOAD file="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\new.gpx" Database="53089" # Export to MapSource Export Type=MPS File="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\Geocaching\Geo Files\53089\53089.mps" # Export to Streets and Trips Export Type=SNT File="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\Geocaching\Geo Files\53089\53089.csv" # Prompt to connect GPSr, then export to GPSr #PAUSE Msg="Connect the GPSr and turn it on before clicking 'OK'" #Export Type=GPS # Export to HTML and remind me to HotSync. Export Type=HTML File="C:\Documents and Settings\Bill\Desktop\Geocaching\Geo Files\53089\" PAUSE Msg="Remember to Plucker and HotSync the Palm!" EXIT Like I said, I'm no programmer but maybe you can help?... Can I cut corners here somewhere? Thanks Clyde! This is fun!! A great tool too!!
  22. No, not yet.... The storage costs for the materials are killing me as well....
  23. Scout, I tried that and it seemed too weak to me... But, if it's working for you, Great!!! I still have parts if anyone is interested... Probably enough to make at least 3 dozen more(I bought in bulk)...

  25. Try this to reset your legend... Master Reset Warning: The Master Reset sequence will delete all routes, user waypoints, and tracks from memory. With power off, press and hold FIND, PAGE and Click Stick, and then press POWER. Release all four buttons after 5-10 seconds when the welcome page is displayed All memory is now clear. Place the unit outside with a clear view of the sky until satellites are acquired (The unit will display "3D GPS Location.") Did it work??
