  1. Anyone know of a younger cacher than my little one? See link: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...y&decrypt=# She is now old enough to cache with mom and dad with a little of effort. Got me thinking is she the offical youngest geocacher??? She was 4 days old at the time. (oct. 12 2005)Thanks for your input. Ken

  4. ROTFL!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!! By far the best post or exsample of a post I have ever seen!!!!
  5. Your more than welcome to use that idea. And thank you. I am glad someone appreciates the thought. Hope it works for you!
  6. Still working on getting warned the first time apparently. Uh, will I get warned for getting off topic? Just messing around. I would think getting your warning level down is like getting out of trouble with your sig. other. Candy, flowers, or new tools. Somthing like that maybe?
  7. Good point. In that case, all geocache containers are potential bombs. Personally, I think the police can put two and two together and get 4. Every cop I know can anyway. But then again. Common sense isn't. Which is why there is a warning label on hairdryers that says. " Do not use in the shower." Maybe we should take labels like that off from products. I think I would call that...chlorine in the gene pool. I mean, geez they have warning labels on cigarette boxes and people still smoke and die from it. If it comes to bomb squads being called on caches, then maybe a global registration of geocaches needs to be developed. Then the police would know where each cache is, and if the hider has permission. Then ofcourse you can't put a bomb in a "registered" geo cache. The government has the same philosphy on guns and it works..........oh wait, crooks don't register their guns. Nevermind, scratch the registration idea. Maybe geocaching has to go. Well, lets take the politicians' point of view. "If we can't control it, regulate it!"
  8. Once the "the bomb squad" is called, they will ofcourse know its a geocache from the plain to see lettering on the outside and the hider will have permission to hide it there. Hide it where muggles are not likely to be. Just like many other caches. In a heavly wooded area. Us geocachers are of the thinking sort. I am sure a concept can be conjoured up.
  9. 4 of us. Ken243, Rambler1, gettin-away, and naturenut. All go out caching as a team at times. Well all started geocaching at the same time. Together we call ourselves.....Team 4 nuts rambling away.
  10. Finding a good woman these days is like buying a winning lottery ticket. They are far and few between. But, when you find the right one.......jackpot! Ken
  11. How about a multi with a pager. I.E. First part: have a box with a telephone number in it. Which will send a message to the pager after the geocacher calls it. Then give them a.....lets say 500 by 500 area that they must "patrol" with their ears open! Maybe a map to the area in the first part of the multi. Or directions to a near by park and simply state, its there some where. Pagers are loud and the batteries lasta long time. Last time I had one it was like $2.99 a month. Which you can find in sofa every month. I thought of doing a multi like that too, and thats what I came up with. I just have not got around to doing it yet. Hope this helps! Ken

  17. This has been my favorite hint so far. "On the ground" I don't know what I would have done with out that information.
  18. That cache has bad luck written all over it! I think I will stay as far away from it as possible. I think maybe some anti-geocachers have some kind of ambush set up for the next impending geocacher to set off. As for the "gun" debate. I think we should leave that out of all posts. Those of us that carry do so for good reason dispite what others think. And those of us that don't carry do so for good reason, despite what the others think. You can led a horse to water but you can't make them drink. (That is ment for both sides of the spetrum.) Ken
  19. I'd like to know about stupid mistakes/bad luck while geocaching. Here is my story/post. Take a walk in highlands. Michigan cache Wow! This was the start of what proved to be the most interesting day of geocaching I have ever had. After finding my parking spot for the first part of the cache I put the tape measure in my pocket which I intended on putting in the cache, jumped out of the work car/ geocaching mobeel went to open the back door to grab my gloves and click...click click click. OOOOHHHH NNNNOOO. I locked my keys in the car! But being the resourceful person my dad taught me to be, I came up with a great idea. After taking the radio antenna off the car I used the tape measure to wedge open the top of the door enough to stick the antenna down into the car and hit the power unlock button. And presto problem solved, and the only damage to the car was a bent antenna. So if you are out caching and see a white ford tempo with bent radio antenna, you know who it is. Now on to the cache, Walked right to the first one neat idea with the placement. #2 was a bit more difficult. The hint would have helped but I wasn't sure about which tree was an oak tree. That and the cords. led me to a spot 40 ft away. But after some work and looking at the base of every other tree within 50 ft of the wrong spot I finally found it. And on to #3, drove within 300ft of this one, placed in the same manner the first part was and walked right to it. #4 was a chore! What a walk and to find out the cords. led 50ft off again. After slipping and sliding and falling and cussing, I found it 50 ft north of the cords. Took the carabiener to hook my keys to my belt! and left that trusty tape measure. Check this one out! Besides locking my keys in my car its the best one I have done yet!
  20. LOL! Still laughing! Urban outdoorsman=homeless person
  21. Well put. Very well put. Somthing one has to take into consideration.
  22. I started my multi with a $20 FTF prize. It is a 9 part multi and its very difficult, so I figured I'd make it worth while. 25 minutes after it was posted people were looking. But it was 11 hours later some one completed it.
  23. www.mi-geocaching.org Forums. We have a topic on the 500 mile/hour club. Not what your looking for but close.
  24. I know I know. I am taking at a EMS education center that has been teaching the class for about 6 years now. They have a 96% pass rate. I figure the odds are for me. Plus I ended up with a 96% on my NREMT-B. I am anything but average people say. Thanks for the link, interesting. M-80 one. hhhhmmm He looked alive. I'd hate to have to intubate him.
