  1. That can be quite disapointing. I also want a travel bug that I will be releasing to stay grounded. I may be lost but I know exactly where I am.
  2. Here are a couple examples of some local coins... Vacman coins Conejo cachers coin *Tracking: Yes, someone at SoCal Geocachers is creating a tracking program. It will be able to track almost any object. I have suggested that once it is up and running that we should get a seperate IP like 'CAgeotrack.com' or something similar. I may be lost but I know exactly where I am.
  3. quote:Originally posted by Bobkat92 & the 3 Bears:Whatever design that is decided on, the Geographical Center coordinates of California with definitely be on the geocoin. Doesn't do anything for me, I'd rather not have them. Just my opinion of course. Oh, and don't forget to leave room for numbering the coins. <a href="http://www.scgeocachers.org/" TARGET=_blank><img src="http://www.scgeocachers.org/avatar/sigavatar.gif"> </a>

  6. Well they don't look like very active cachers. Maybe they used a hotmail account that they don't check very often (I know I have one like that, used for registering on websites).
  7. Kealia, My first three paragraphs were stating my design preferences. My last paragraph, the one about TPTB, are just for tracking the coins. Sorry for any confusions.
  8. Like TeamJiffy, the coordinates alone don't tell me anything. I would just prefer not to have any at all. I also agree on adding an inner ring on the front side. On Modesto's design I would remove Eureka, because I like the design from Dillon. Would we like to also see The Golden Gate bridge represented. Possibly something to represent LA/Hollywood like the older movie camera? About tracking the coins, TPTB as SoCal geocachers have said that they will create a tracking program.
  9. What if on one side we put the 'California Geocaching' design and on the flip side each local chapter can put on their design. Then each 'group' would order from the same company so they can use the already made design and cast. This may help lower the cost some.
  10. Sounds like a good enough excuse to go to Hawaii .
  11. IBTL Anyone else know that term? <A HREF="http://www.scgeocachers.org" TARGET=_blank><IMG SRC="http://www.scgeocachers.org/avatar/sigavatar.gif"> </A>
  12. Ernie, There has been talk about it in the Regional forums. CA Geocoin <A HREF="http://www.scgeocachers.org" TARGET=_blank><IMG SRC="http://www.scgeocachers.org/avatar/sigavatar.gif"> </A>

  14. My 'Takes a beating and keeps on receiving' story... I was heading down a gradual slope and slid on some sandy rocks with my Magellan Meridian in hand, putting my hand out to support myself the GPSr was slamed face first onto the rocks supporting all me weight. I was pleasantly surprised after looking at the display and seeing it working fine without a crack or scratch. It was money well spent on those peel off screen protectors.
  15. Soup can easily be eaten with one hand, especially in a styrafoam cup. It's just like a softdrink then, no spoon required.
  16. I put in a new cache request on 8/24 and it was approved on 8/26. But it was approved by Hemlock. Was your cache complex? Maybe it is taking a bit longer to review.
  17. That's not as bad as this one hid and found by the same person.
  18. I was FTF on a cache and found a '1st' ribbon. On the back there is a place to fill in person, which had 'First to Find' and a place for event, which had 'River Ratt cache'. I thought it was a great idea and now it's hanging on my corkboard. I intend putting something similar in my caches.
  19. I noticed that too. Glad it wasn't just me.
  20. My Meridian came with 3.12 and as far as I can tell it works fine. Reading other peoples stories about their upgrades I'm leaving mine as is for now. If it works, why fix it?
