  1. I am curious as to how the coordinates work. Lets take the following example: N 45° 25.412 W 075° 41.754 (WGS84) What do each of the numbers mean, i.e., is .412, what does each decimal place translate too...ie from .412 to .413, would that equal a cm? a meter? etc. Also what does the stuff in the brackets mean (WGS84)??? And what is a UTM? Thanks http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  2. Ok we all do the Geocaching thing, but I am wondering what other type of games (and any associated web sites) we can play with our GPS? Ralph http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  3. When I go to My Cache page, I see it says "You do not want to be notified when new caches are hidden in your area". I couldn't figure out how to change this so that it notifies me. Thanks, Ralph http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  4. I just got my SporTrak Pro and everything is in Miles and feet. It there a way to change it to Meters and KM? I didn't see anything browsing through the manual. Thanks. http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  5. Hi Night Stalker, you mentioned that you downloaded some Topo maps...do you have a web site where you downloaded them form? I went ahead and order a SporTrak Pro yesterday so ti should be arriving by the end of the week. Thanks, Ralph http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  6. I am in Ontario, Canada, and am new to all this and I am thinking of buying a Magellan SporTrak PRO so that I can do some Geocaching. I see the best price for this I found so far was about $380 Canadian. Is that a good price? Also, is this a good reliable unit to get or is it overkill? Is this unit goof for the money or would you recommend a different one. I just want to get some opinions. Also, do the mapSend Streets and Destinations CDs have hiking trails mapped in it too, such as the Bruce Trail in Ontario, Canada? Also, will this software navigate for me when I am driving...ie help me find my destination? What accesories might I need to buy? Ie, a cable to hook up to the PC? Car cigarette lighter adapter? carrying case? Also, one question I do have, is using a GPS free, or do you have to pay a monthly service fee to hook up to the satellites? Thanks... http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
  7. Ok I am new and this geocaching stuff sounds like a lot of fun. I am just outside Toronto, Ontario, Canada and am wondering what store I would go to to buy a GPS. Also what are the price ranges? I assume a low end one would be good enough to start. Also, any places on the net to buy one, preferably located in Canada. What about Ebay, are there good deals on there? Since I am new I really don't know what a good price would be. http://ca.geocities.com/rsab2100/pond.html
