  1. As far as I know, attribute information doesn't appear in the GPX-files, hence it is not available as offline information in a Pocket PC or Laptop when one needs it. It doesn't have to if the PQ you generate consists only of 'No Research' caches.
  2. They also make the pole a little top-heavy, which takes some of getting used to.
  3. RAM Mount make a GPS mount for trekking poles - walking sticks. Works great.
  4. I'll help... http://gpsinformation.net/
  5. I think they are wrong. (EDIT) But, you could log it into and out of the cache to correct its mileage.
  6. Press the 'Mark' button. The waypoint screen will open. Then, using the round arrow button, navigate to the area with the coordinates. Press 'Enter', and edit the coordinates to whatever you want them to be.. Hope this helps.
  7. Go to keenpeople.com, they have one. Used to, anyway. There are other sites, someone else will likely be along shortly to help you out.
  8. You need a serial to USB adapter, available from Radio Shack or Ebay or lots of other places. Pretty cheap, $10-$15 or so. No idea how to make one but I suppose plans are out there. Prolly cheaper to buy it though.
  9. Read these threads.... http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...amp;hl=backpack http://forums.Groundspeak.com/GC/index.php...=134627&hl= .. and there are lots more. Search for 'backpack' or 'daypack' if you need more info.
  10. Dang, GSAK is $20 now? How about that.
  11. I'm not sure what you mean. UsaPhotoMaps (www.jdmcox.com) is a free satellite imaging program you can download. From that you can open a .gpx file and see the waypoints. Google Earth is better at doing that in some places, not so good in others. It's also free. For managing and sorting waypoints, I recommend GSAK, not free but cheap enough, and well worth it. About $8 or so. EasyGPS does similar tasks, and it's free. But get GSAK. That help?
  12. Are you having them Zipped before they're mailed? That will help.
  13. People who call those who hold opposing viewpoints 'trolls' are no better than trolls themselves. An all too common practice on many online forums, it's an intellectual cop-out carefully designed to avoid having to post a reasonable counterpoint. Fortunately, the 'ignore' feature is here for that very purpose.
  14. The cache page logs don't have a BB help page but these forums do. Just click 'reply' (or create new post) and on the left you'll see 'BB Code Help' under all the little smilies. I don't know if all of those are applicable to the cache logs but i'm sure most are. {EDIT} Here's another site with that info. Again, I'm not sure if all of these are applicable... http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/BBCode
  15. Are you talking about the time shown here in the forum? That is set on each user's individual profile page. Click on "My Controls" on the top right of the page, it's in there.
  16. The bill did not pass. It's over.
  17. You could get a PQ of all your local caches that have TBs, then drag that file into the Temporary Places folder in GE. But that wouldn't show the TB's name, etc. That's all I can think of.
  18. The link you gave sends cachers to their profile page. Here is the link to yours: http://www.geocaching.com/profile/?id=182647 {EDIT} But I don't see the <BR>s so I guess you've fixed it and the point is moot, eh?
  19. If Groundspeak supplies that information, and that information turns out to be wrong, and someone gets arrested, then Groundspeak could be held liable.
  20. Yeah, you don't want to leave a handgun in the room safe when you check out either. They hate that.
  21. I've had more trouble getting through with the lead filled beanbag GPS mount than with the GPS itself. I've learned to pull the beanbag out of the bag, put it on top, and tell them what it is.
  22. I'm thinking this has become a geocaching urban legend. This was discussed on the Georgia Geocacher's Forum and we came to the conclusion that there wasn't even a Georgia cacher who had more than 4000 finds, as this guy is claiming.
