  1. Yeah...it will remove it from the cache page. It will just put it in "limbo." When someone logs it, it will just jump into their hands.

    Pq Problem

Its soooo much easier to use Cachemate with PDAs. After you upload cache listings you just tap "Nearest Caches." Enter your current coords and there you go!
  3. Its a Ringer The final leg of this multi took me forever!! I think I came back at least 5 different times, with 5 different people. This guy loved decoy caches. One decoy was so good, it could have qualified for a cache in itself. As it turns out (as always), it was there the whole time.
  4. Personally, I wouldnt stick a CD in my computer that I found in a cache, from a cacher whose name I didnt recognize. I have had WAY too many problems with viruses and trojans. I understand where you are coming from though. Someone happens to get hit with a nasty worm the same day (or week) they stick one of your CDs into their computer. I wouldn't outright blame the CD creator, because (1) it probably came from something online and (2) I was stupid for putting an unknown burned CD in my computer.
  5. Its "amazing" to see the trends of the forums: The Amazing Race
  6. A fellow geocacher sells custom made stamps, although not self inking. Check them out here: Stamps
  7. Its great to tell others about what you are doing...that you trust. There are a lots of people out there that just like to destroy things such as this. Be careful! Dont flaunt around to every stranger what you are doing looking for "hidden treasure." Before you know it, the cache will be thrown about the pavement and gone. I've seen and heard about it all too often.
  8. "Grabbing" means you got it from another geocacher "Retrieving" means you got it from a cache
  9. yeah...its now approved.
  10. Norton wont let me run it either. I wouldn't trust this one. Does it have the owner's name on it?

    Something Fishy

No...its not in the PQ code. It happens on a reqular zip code search too. There must have been something that changed in the last day. Do a search for zip: 59405 and go to page 3. The "New" GCK029 cant be viewed either. Check out this thread: Is this normal?
  13. Nope. The only thing I can think of is maybe it was approved, listed, and then the approver retracted that approval (can they do that???). Something quirky like that could have happened.
  14. Then the answer to your question it, no that is not normal. A not-yet-approved cache should not appear under a distance search until it has been approved. However, it is normal to be blocked access from a cache listing until it is approved. Either a system glich or something has been changed.
  15. How did you find the link for this cache listing? You said you did a cache search for a hundred miles and it was listed as new?
  16. The reason you cannot view this cache is it has not been "approved" by the geocaching.com approvers. Once approved, you should have no problem viewing it. Unless the cache is denied and archived, then you may never see it.
  17. An "archived" cache simply means a cache has been permanently disabled for one reason or another. Reasons include: (1) The cache has been muggled - A non geocacher finds the caches and steals or destroys it. (2) The cache has been denied by the geocaching approvers - Something with the planning or placement of the cache directly conflicts with the rules of geocaching.com. (3) The owner decides he wants to remove it - Either the owner is moving, cant take care of it, decides the cache is not worth the effort, or has bigger plans for that spot. (4) The cache is abandoned - The owner "drops" out of geocaching and no longer cares for the cache. The cache becomes under a state of disrepair and a geocaching Admin decides archive it. Archived caches, ninety-nine percent of the time, have been removed by the owner, a fellow geocacher, or have gone missing. You may visit the area yes, but you most likely will not find a cache. Essentially, these cache is removed from the website searches. However, they are not removed completely for history's sake. Do not get the term "archive" confused with "temporarily disabled." Disabled means whatever the problem with the cache, rather than letting it be archived, the owner of the cache wants to fix the problem and it will soon be available again. Both archived caches and disabled caches have a lines through their name when you do a search.
  18. What did you say? The Garmin building is not a cache? I didnt know it was to begin with.
  19. Check this out: Geocache-Athalon
