  1. Batman dubbed ours Gypsy. We also occasionally refer to her as Lola, in deference to the Robin Williams movie "RV." In either case, it is definitely female, though now that Batman thinks about it, maybe it should be male, since it never has to stop and ask for directions.
  2. Thanks. I had looked at City Navigator and it seemed the way to go, but I decided it was best to confirm this with actual users of the product. Any thoughts on what size SDcard I should get to accommodate uploading maps to the Venture Cx?
  3. I would like to purchase mapping software for my GPSr so that I have more road detail than I do with whatever came preloaded on the device. Which software should I buy? Thanks, Batman
  4. Thanks to everyone who's posted so far. You've given me some good pointers that I will definitely consider. Happy Caching!
  5. My wife and I began caching in September 2006. At that time, we bought the basic eTrex $100 unit (yellow). Now that we've got 150 finds under our belt and are totally addicted to the hobby, we've decided to upgrade to a better GPSr. Primarily, we're most interested in buying a GPSr that shows the roads on it. While we would agree that sometimes finding the cache is half the fun, there have also been times that we would've liked to know at what road we should turn, rather than following a half-dozen wrong roads. Since we own eTrex now, and I have a general understanding of what I'm doing, I'd like to stay with the eTrex product line. Last night I was looking at the Venture, the Legend, and the Vista (all CX models). On the eTrex website, the prices are: Venture-$246; Legend-$289; and Vista-$321. If I buy the Venture, will I be content, or is it worth the extra money to go with the Legend or Vista. And if so, why? Also, can someone explain about the "optional maps" that are available for any of these eTrex models? Does the GPSr come with a map or not? Thanks, Steve (aka Batman)
