  1. yesterday August 31 2013 we released 2173 caches 26 different Cache Owerners worked together for one year, planning and making all this possible. more info here: http://coord.info/GC43AG3
  2. I got two HUGE slumber periodes so I qualify for any of them, "crasy" challenges, however I dont agree to any such challenge as beeing any kind of positive geocaching behaviour so I dont log it or seek it.
  3. all the time you spend on this matter, writing about it, thinking about it, why not just replace the container and logbook, and all people in the world are now happy, and you get in geo-heawen for your nice and friendly work.. We all know how to complain, and suggest alot of others do alot or at least their job, when they dont.. why cant we help a bit ? most cache maintenance is easy to do and takes less time, compared to complaining about it.
  4. is the RIGHT stone clearly marked with: THIS IS THE STONE TO LIFT AND ANY OTHER STONES CAN NOT BE LIFTED if not, ALL other stones will be lifted and poked arround with until the location is a mess !! BAD CACHE !! archive it ASAP !!
  5. I dont understand your comment ? they are first logged as grapped from the cache I took them from, and then "placed" in the event I goto this saturday, then people will be able to discover, and later, grap them from the event.
  6. a few day ago, a cacher dropped 65 trackables into a cache I just by luck got on watch, so we hurried there to grap them all.. we want to bring them all to the MEGA event this weekend, so many people can see them, and later that day take them to other caches.
  7. allright thanks, so it can only be seen via this forum ?
  8. how do you see the member number ? is that just a number incremented every time one join ?
  9. that link is also the backdoor to figuring out the names of unpuplished caches all you need is the GC number :-) sometimes the name is all you need to find it.
  10. I pay you to wash my car, no kidding, real money, real job..
  11. >As long as you aren't wrecking it for other people I don't typically care what you do. the issue is : if too many people cheat too much, it gets the standard, and no one thinks it is cool or funny to play fair anymore, and no one expect anyone to play fair by the rules.
  12. why make a very silly challenge cache, when so maybe people dislike them ?
  13. it is very normal to start reading previous logs when a cache is hard to find, some times it is possible to sneak out some kind of help and then locate the cache, other times it just confuse even more. Tell about your experiance online, dont DIRECTLY reveal stuff in clear text.
  14. it is VERY funny to travel and geocache, yes people are different, the area is different, try and you see.. it is a bit harder compared to caching home
  15. to Oxford Stone you make up yur own rules, and let other play by them.. better way is you make caches that can handle the rules.. not bed the rules, since your caches cant handle it..
  16. newer just TAKE.. you can add if space, and you can only take stuff if you put stuff in, similar value or better. someone smart invented this line : Trade Even, Trade Up, or dont trade
  17. I prefer the great fear factor of walking arround in the dark with my torch, even if I maybe could, I newer cheat my self for this cool adventure and just do it during day time, what a downer..
  18. a cache with no red flag is pr definition a cache in PREFECT condition.. so if you as the last finder, see something you can not easyly fix your self, you must offcourse kindly also post a NM log, use a polite and friendly and clear tone, explain exactly what you think needs service, this way other finders could help if they like, or the CO needs to do it.. performing minor service is kind gesture, like pick up liter you did not drop your self.
  19. we just came home from a SUPER cool vacation, we rented a car, and yes we drove arround the island every day long, one of our best geocaching trips ever !! see pictures in our geocaching profile gallery, that island ROCKS :-) who made the caches and why, we dont care much, as long as they dont violate our own general rules, like not in ancient stone walls or a place where seeking it will cause permanent damage to the area, this we did find a few who did, so we wrote about it in our logs. we do prefer locals with area know how to place caches and to maintain them.. how ever many caches are offcourse placed by turists, at places like this where extreamly many turists come, learn German is good idea :-) I think most caches are made by German turists there...
  20. for height, in planes, use GPS height, NOT the pressure sensor ! it is displayed on the GPS status screen.
  21. CO discovers that many people log his caches as found without actually finding them. "This is how we play geocaching". you can not.. or should not, change the rules compleetly agains the guidelines set by Groundspeak.. http://www.geocaching.com/about/guidelines.aspx specially this line apply to ALL people, ALL over the world: Physical caches can be logged online as "Found" once the physical log has been signed. however people just leave a throwdown, sign that one, very close to "your" kind of game, at least you folks are honost not finders :-)
  22. people do silly things all the time, just dont mean you need to copy the silly and do it your self, even if it is not illegal, logging your own event as attended, is what some people do, sinc they did offcourse also attend, that is NOT the same things, as finding your own caches, since you hide them you know where they are, so finding.. dont really match, t is not a find but a pick up, or a performed maintenance..
  23. on some phones, you can turn on the wifi and or the gps, in flight mode, check your settings. I bring my garmin gps on planes all the time, hold it near or even in the centre of the window is needed sometimes, cabin crew dont know what it is, so they always tell me to turn it off for take off or landing, if you DO turn it off for a while, getting back into gps-lock while at high speed might be impossible or take VERY long time.
  24. if you use a robot, or monkey, or jetpack, or climb up the pole for real, to sign its log and put it back, should be all the same to the CO ..
