  1. Just connect to computer and open Garmin/ GPX folder. Drag and drop it there. Then disconnect and start it up. Caches should all be there now.
  2. My old palm been in the drawer for over a year now. Use to use it, but the battery wouldn't last long enough to keep up with my caching. And was a pain to charge when on the road a few days. They are not very rugged, But they are cheap to buy.
  3. if you have an older software version (GCD file), place it in the Garmin Directory. Then do a hard reset. On my 62s, it was hold page, enter and power button. When the Garmin screen appears, release just the power button. When it asks to delete user data, click yes. Mine worked after, but all my settings were gone. Hope it helps.
  4. do you have maps on a card, and did you remove it before updating? What and how did your update go about
  5. back at 2.40 after Garmin support helped me. Gonna wait for the proper release. I'm leaving tomorrow and thought I was gonna have to use my old 60CSX. Had to reboot everything now I'm loading the maps right to the GPS memory, instead of my card. Hopefully no more problems. Did like some of the new features, the brief time it was working with 2.44.
  6. mine to, but now it doesn't stop hanging. calling garmin as i type
  7. Trying to go back to 2.40. This beta keeps hanging and I can't get it to go again.
  8. Don't use it, right now I can't get my GPS to work properly any more. Need to find 3.40 and re install. Keeps hanging at loading tracks or gets past there and hangs at loading maps.
  9. Was all excited, when you go to a multicache, you now have the option to enter next stage. Cool. But when I stop navigating, it close down the whole GPS. 2 shutdowns already.
  10. Personally like the push buttons. Get used to button positions and can work it with out looking. Handy in the dark or walking in thick woods, riding bike, quad, vehicle or boat. Sometimes you cant be watching and placing a finger on different parts of the screen. Push button can be done like braille.
  11. Trying it now. When it rebooted, it got stuck on a garmin screen after going through the update. Nothing worked, had to pull the batteries. Re installed the batteries and started working, shut down once on me, but not sure if batteries are low. Put new batteries, one thing I've noticed is when you zoom in or out on map page, it all changes colors and then goes back. Will post more if need be.
  12. Was on auto the first time, but yesterday I set it to my time zone. And that's the results. Waiting for a reply from Garmin. Also read someone else had similar issues.
  13. Don't show on the calendar First cache I found worked, second showed up on the next day (was about 5pm). Today both caches I found in the field didn't show, and now I tried 3 caches without going to look for them (actually my own) and all 3 showed up on the calendar. Not major cause you can still use your field notes OK, but liked looking at them on the calendar when you want to look back.
  14. Just noticed second cache showed up on the next day. It was on automatic for time, switched to proper time zone, will have to see the next ones.
  15. Didn't really fit the 60 ram mount, but it went in the mount tight and I just used elastic to hold it in place. Actually worked well cause it was on my quad and it was a bumpy road. Will buy correct one when they come out, but this works for now. Lighter plug in worked great, but wonder how waterproof that usb connection will be.
  16. Yeah, stumbled upon it when I tried caching with it tonight. Found 2 caches with it. The first one showed up on the calendar page, but couldn't get the second one to. It showed it on the map page as an open chest, but wouldn't submit a log or show on calendar page.
  17. How do you stop navigation or switch between on road/off road when navigating. Use to just press menu and it would come up, now with the 62s I don't see it anywhere. All I've found is to find another. Any info would be great.
  18. Thanks Redwood. Just dragged the Pocket queries and works great. Think I'm gonna love the extra info right there, especially after climbing a hill last night to only find out the cache was disabled. All those mystery and multi caches will be known right away, not after a relentless search and then arrive home to check to see why I DNF'd. So far I like the autorouting, better than the 60CSX and love the compass, not having to lay it flat. It does squeak a bit, but I think that will go away with time and use. Now to find my first cache with it.
  19. Just got my GPS and checking it out. Where do I find GSAK, always used easygps before.
  20. Love exploring new places and there's a whole world out there, so It's never gonna get boring for me. But having to go farther and farther away gets more expensive. Maybe I'll have to move to another city in the years to come.
  21. picked up a lighter plug in today at Walmart and my new GPS is at the local fed ex office. Will hopefully have a report by next week.
  22. A video I put together a while back showing my GPS ram mount. Works great.
  23. What about ram mounts. Looks like the dimensions are a little bigger, does it fit in the 60 mount. Or does ram make the proper mount yet. Hard to find out as even Ram or Garmin's site doesn't seem to have updated all the info. My 62s should be in on Wednesday
  24. So can you get a lighter plug in for USB? Never used or seen one. Want it for the vehicle, quad.
  25. Can you use a lighter plug-in with this unit. I use one with my 60csx, but haven't seen anything about it for a 62s. Got one on order and wondering about accessories.
