  3. I can't imagine what someone gains from such blatant false logging? The person referred to in the OP has 'found' ~40 virtual caches all over the USA, UK, Hungary, Germany, Canada and China in the last 3 days, whilst also finding physical caches in Germany on all of those days. It just makes him seem like a fraud. Can he have enjoyed not visiting these special places?
  4. Please make sure your subjects have a map and compass and a bit of sense. Getting lost makes you look a bit foolish.
  5. They are MY hides! I'm so pleased you liked them. I grew up in Portsoy which is about 3.5 miles east of these caches.
  6. Yup Scottish Schools finish as close to start of July as poss and go back middle of August. E.g this year most of us go back in a week's time. This year we based our Summer holiday around the Mega Event and so spent 9 days pootling enroute and around Harrogate caching. It was brilliant and we would do it again wherever the Mega was.
  7. I just picked mine up in Edinburgh. They said they only had Big Ben ones. I'd love an Angel of the North one.
  8. Indeed the only participating place in Edinburgh has no clue what I was going on about and apparently Garmin's main help desk are unsure of Blacks role in the whole thing too.
  9. The Scottishish Quiz We'll be at the pub from 6pm and you can collect a quiz sheet from Simon or me from 7pm. Bring a pencil/pen! You have about an hour to complete the quiz to the best of your team's ability. Maximum size for a team is 6 and we have about 35 quiz sheets. Prizes for being knowitalls, best drawing etc. (Do you think we'll need more than 35?? )
  10. Friday and Saturday nights. Yup we are staying Sat and Sun at the cedar court. Although originally I booked the wakefield one
  11. We're arriving in the area this Saturday - can't wait.
  12. Why not just plan to have an annual UK event - without calling it The nth UK Mega Event - and if it happens to atract 500 people then Great! How about GeoGlastonbury (ref: GeoWoodstock)? Geo T in the Park?
  13. I use an HP ipaq PDA - built in GPS and WiFi and runs Windows so can do all the things you like, as well as organising my life. Simon
  14. I think the Highland Geofairy sends some of her coins down to the central belt.
  15. After many years of being stung by nettles i think I am almost immune. I get a few minutes of stinging, no white spots/redness and after a while i've forgotten all about it. Probably comes from rolling around in them as a child Simon
  16. I would like a cache rating system. It would be great to know about the hidden gems as well as the micros in the woods. Simon
  17. Yes hopefully they will - an explanation would be interesting
  18. Every cache we have found we have found together - and I get a kiss every time. It's a very romantic hobby really. Malinky
  19. Thanks for all your hard work guys - much appreciated. Simon
  20. You can create smaller files by only asking GSAK to export a certain number of caches to create the .csv file. They can be centered on any point you create in GSAK. If i'm caching locally I usually load up the nearest 2000 to my house which covers most of the region i travel in . If i'm going elsewhere i create a new overlay for that region. I realised when I had 20,000 icons that MM on the pda was really slowing down. Simon
  21. If you get a needlestick injury from an unknown source attend your local A+E department. You will be given a tetanus vacccination and start an accelerated Hepatitis B vaccination series. You will be councilled regarding the risk of HIV (small) and whether you wish to take PEP (post exposure prophylaxis - NOT a vaccine - which will reduce your risk, but is not nice). There is no treatment for Hepatitis C. Your blood will be taken for storage - there is no point in doing tests acutely. The risks are small that you will be infected, even if stuck with a freshly used needle full of infected blood you have a ~1:300 risk. Play safe. Dr. Malinky
  22. Sitting here reading this and it was only just on the radio. The current record is 276 days, and Mark is scheduled to complete in 195 days. Richard I believe the bell on his bike goes DING
  23. Ok then. Mark Beaumont (a Fifer) is about to beat the world record for cycling around the world. What is the time he has to beat?
