Many times we decide at the last minute to take off for a day or weekend, and run a pocket query to download the caches in the area. Very frustrating are those caches marked as "Regular" when they are truly Multi-caches.... those that say in the description, "cache is not at posted coords" ... Or they have a puzzle to complete to get the true coords of the hidden cache.
It would be very nice if they were either 1) edited by the geo-gods to be a "multi" ( and while we're talking about it, what is an "unknown" cache, and why is that allowed?); or if there were a type of cache listed as "puzzle", so that we could eliminate those from the query.
OR! Is there a GPS that downloads the cache description so that we don't spend a half hour looking for a cache that turns out "is not at the posted coords", or has a puzzle to complete to give the true waypoints, but the only way to know that is to have read the cache description?
Not to discount these caches at all... we do love puzzle caches, and many have very interesting information about the area in which the cache is placed. Just looking for a way to download a bunch of caches on the fly where there isn't time to read all the descriptions before loading in the GPS and heading out the door.
Ok, so while we're talking, I've seen caches that have been neglected by the owners even though several DNF's have been logged, but again, the Pocket Query doesn't show that.
So maybe we need a GPS that shows the description and a couple of the latest logs. We'd be willing to invest in that, if anyone has any suggestions. :-)
