  1. Sorry, I already given them away FOC to 2 GCers in SG. Shop is closed for good. :-)
  2. You can try contacting them if you want to set up a store. Anyone is very much welcome to take over my remaining stocks. For those who received SPAM from my site, I am very sorry. I was just alerted today that a customer was receiving SPAM emails. Upon investigation, I found out that there is a newly discovered bug in the software I was using, and the hackers have been abusing sites using that software. To prevent further abuse, I have deleted all the customers contacts in the database. I will keep doing so for any new purchases.
  3. yup, I am winding down. Sold the last trackable just this month. Left with stickers and lanyards. Anyone Singapore cachers wants them drop me a pm here. As mention in last note, anyone with more than 200 finds or hidden 50 caches will get "special discount". (I actually intend to give them away foc with no strings attached - valid only for folks who found more than 100 cache or hidden 50)

  8. Merry Christmas Singapore cachers. A little busy at work to do much caching lately. Will be back...
  9. i use the same nick everywhere, except daddyhooby, not because I was late to register it, but i 'created' this nickname after i had an account with dh. I use my real name at dh.
  10. actually there are many cachers who look at what they want to do from the web, key in the coordinates into the GPS, print out the clue, print out the top down view from Google earth, then head to the location and search for it. Not "happen to be near 1 of the cache..u can see via ur map.." There are also some die-hard cachers who subscribe to the Groundspeak membership, get notified immediately when there is a new cache.. and head out there (even late at night) to search for it... just remember that the GPS is part of the game... not all of it. Solving the clue is one part, searching at the actual location is another. Being stealth could be fun to some too... and most important of all, enjoy the location itself... it will bring you to many nice places.
  11. the worst experience i had was trying to replace back my "missing fort cache"... that guy saw me box.. and decide to trial me to see what I do with it... I gave up.. disabled the cache.. and replaced it late in the evening.
  12. take out my stylus.. start punching my PDA... if wearing business attire: - looks business like... like some kind of stat board staff on official duty taking notes. if casual - looks a little bored.. and pretend playing game on the PDA if caught coming out behind some tree... actually no one really bother... they just thought I went there for a leak.. and look disgusted at me....
  13. - google earth may not be as accurate as the newer gps when u get to the site. - no need to try to look from top down, worst when u get under some trees - have u check out the google earth images of jurong west+vacinity? ;-) - some cache are multi stages, that is you need to solve vaious 'waypoints' or puzzle to get to the final location. if you rely purely on google earth, you might incur lots of phone bill accessing at the field. yes, there are indeed some like 'no looking back' where gps is not needed at the final location. try out some simple cache like emily rose, hole in one, lifeless root, rip. you will understand better. then go for the other extreme like dongzhi, contact, opus... or many get rough out type in ubin, bt timah, various water catchments and even some accessible via canoe
  14. Welcome to the geocaching community. As long as you have it GPS.. it is will be easier. Just give the GPSes some error buffer... and comb the area, starting from GZ, slowly expanding the search zone. Even if you are holding a super-dooper-top-of-the-line GPS, it doesn't mean the person who hide the cache owns one and provided a to-the-millimeter accurate co-ordinates. Make good use of Google earth too... though it may not point you to the right location, but at least near by. At times it is very accurate. Ask sirhcoey, he started geocaching without GPS, armed only with google map. Read the FAQ: http://www.geocaching.com/faq/ Start with the easier caches... those that are marked difficulty:1, terrian:1, and with containers that are not medium/large. Once you get an idea of what is it all about... And use your "lifelines": "Email the owner/friend", "Call the owner/friend", "tag along a expert cacher". i read thru the faq already... not very clear ....GZ means? ground zero.

  16. I placed Cessna at ToaPayoh. I will give the paraphanalia a pass.... I got more than enough with me... 40 TBs and lots of other items... anyone wants to get one? thanks for the offer...
  17. I know of 2 TBs that has been in Singapore for quite a long while.. and is trying to get back home in North America.... perhaps we can help pass it to tourist/expats visiting the country? As they are quite large in size, and doesn't fit in a micro cache, they are rarely visited by cachers stopping over in Singapore. Flossy the Cache Cow (at Casurina Land) Cessna the Eagle
  18. How about casurina land.... it is not as far as the hotel than bukit timah.... and it is a fairly large cache....
  19. you can do it at http://babelfish.altavista.com/
  20. Try going over to malsingmaps.com 's wiki. There is an article there listing the latest prices of various stores in Singapore. You can download the free Singapore map there too.
  21. Oh, a copy tag? Hehehe, my inexperience is showing through. We've only been geocaching since this January, so we didn't know that. I suppose we shouldn't have ordered those other TB's then. Unfortunately a PM in French is quite out of the question... I only know the word "oui". I guess I'll send them another message and hopefully hear back from them soon. Thanks for the response. ---> Migo.Yin try using http://babelfish.altavista.com/ to translate some simple English sentences in French and send it to them..
  22. Can I log a FTF for the video?
