  1. Steph, your track record speaks for itself... you are one of the very few that I feel comfortable with when it comes to reservations... I'd even pay you in advance, but I also understand why you don't accept payments until you have them in hand ready to ship. I've always appreciated the good moral character that you present yourself with and the extra time and effort you put into your coin sales to make sure your customers are happy... now that I've buttered you up, could you speed things up a bit!?! ...just kidding! I can wait just as patiently as the next coiner in line!
  2. wow! great looking coin! ...I miss a lot when I'm away for a few days... I'll be looking for this one too...
  3. this looks like fun... I'll have to go play and see what I can come up with...
  4. great looking design! ...I've always liked the transporter coins! ...I'll be keeping an eye out for this one...
  5. I'm hoping for reservation sales myself... I know it is more work on Steph, but it is much easier on my heart and blood pressure!
  6. wow, seriously? my objective opinion on this topic has evidently been taken way out of context. I meant it with no malice at all. It may have a snarky, sarcastic undertone to it, but I never called anyone names and as stated, I had no malice intent at all. If anyone was hurt by my words, then all I can suggest is you're reading too much into my thoughts... It's a good thing I haven't returned to the forums in a few days because I surely would have gotten another slap on the wrist and strongarmed outta here for a few days, weeks, or possibly months... call me the ignorant one if you must, but I have read and reread the comments I was involved with and I don't see where the line was crossed on either side of the discussion and warranted any type of "warning" But since the moderators feel like I have overstepped my boundaries and feel a need to step in and stop the madness, You won't have to worry about me contributing to this discussion again. Having said that, I'll say one last thing while showing myself to the door, turning the topic into a 'discussion for a solution' is much better than debating pro's and con's (which before anyone points fingers, Is the only thing I see I was guilty of)
  7. you're entitled to your opinion, even if it smells bad. However I expect reactions like this when a valid point is made and a valid rebuttal can't be. BTW, you missed re-activating your dates and launch point on your *removed by moderator*... It shows as being activated in 2006 and launched from Washington, that's roughly 3 years before you started caching... I'm sure you overlooked that when the history logs were deleted... then again, it may have not had any history, no one will ever know will they? After it's all said and done, Nothing is going to change your way of thinking, and you're entitled to do what you want with your coins, however you can't expect folks to agree with you or like it...
  8. using this logic, I certainly hope you never purchase the Declaration of Independence and start deleting Ben Franklins and John Hancocks signatures from it beacause you want to start it over again... same could be said for the Vietnam War Memorial, I'd hate for you to start deleting the history there... or Mount Rushmore...or,or, or....the list goes on, but lets make it fit geocoins and trackables.... lets suppose you had the oportunity to purchase the first geocoin ( Mnt10bike's 001) or the OCB (Original Can of Beans) or an opportunity to adopt the last APE cache. Would you want to delete the log history of those trackables/cache simply because you could because you are the "new" owner and wanted to start them from scratch again? I'm guessing not, so why is it so important to delete the logs and history of any other trackable with a history? I'd personally be pissed if you acquired several coins I have discovered and started deleting my discovery of them, as many of them are rare enough that I may never see another one unless I run across an 'old school' geocoin collector that has managed not to liquidate their collection over the past few years... If you want coins without a history then I would suggest not buying activated coins. You may not see it at cheating anyone out of anything but an icon, but the person that discovered it may see it as something more, like a special occasion or event and meeting some special people at the time. Unless you were there, you don't know and shouldn't try rewriting the history of the coin because it satisfies your desire to do so...
  9. Well, if you don't get it, then it can't be explained to you. Check Ebay, non-activated coins sell for more. Ah yes, two old favorites! The old "It can't be explained to you" and "It's more valuable!" canards. Maybe the reason it can't be explained is because it makes no sense! Your second line explains the difference in desireability between activated and unactivated coins. I don't put much stock in it, but I understand it. But we aren't discussing activated vs unactivated coins, and you still have not explained why an activated coin with no logs is more valuable than an activated coin with logs. I contend that it isn't. I have seen those listings on ebay stating that a coin is activated but has no logs and I seriously doubt that buyers care about that. It is meaningless. It tells the prospective buyer nothing about the coin. Especially since logs can be deleted at will. An Activated coin has a history to it, and unactivated has a clean slate. I know when I seek out coins on Ebay or cointracking I prefer coins with NO LOGS activated or not. And I know I can't be the only one. Coins that you purchase that have logs on them have a history that you were not a part of. I prefer starting a coin over with a clean record because I reactivate with the date I receive the coin so I don't want logs on it that predate the activation. So if I find a geocoin for sale that is preactivated but has no logs, thats a bonus. what does it matter if you are going to delete the logs anyhow? it shouldn't matter if you have no logs or a thousand on it... having said that, I have deleted some logs on coins I have purchased that were pre-activated, however I only do it to clean up the coins page... I never delete "discovered" logs or logs where it has been "dropped" into an event to add milage... I only delete "retrieved from" logs and unnecessary notes... to delete anything else only deletes the coins history... you never know, I would hate to delete a discovery log from someone that ends up famous 20 years from now....
  10. So close! Actually I guess that works now that I googled it. I was shooting for Ibex...they must share some dna Now, the next mystery (ok not so much) is that the icons on the front of the coin spell something, once decoded. either ICON or COIN? ....could be NOIC or ONIC though I suppose!
  11. I might have a coin or two that you might be interested in for a trade... I'll keep an eye out for your new coin! edited because I can't spell...
  12. 12-12-12 is Wednesday. 12-21-12 is on Friday. That alone tells me I'd sell more event coins on the 21st than I would on the 12th...
  13. I think both should be done and let folks decide which event and coin they wish to participate in... If I recall correctly (someone correct me if I'm wrong) but the 11-11-11 multi event (coin) project had 53 different versions which IMHO is total overkill... splitting them would create smaller groups for each project and may be better received by anyone wishing to participate... If given an choice, I'd choose to do a 12-21-12 "end of the world" coin over the 12-12-12 project... a friday night event is always better attended than a wednesday night event...
  14. What would you suggest? Already have Cinco De Mayo, Holiday, Halloween. Mardi Gras Masquerade V2 ! I'd be willing to bet there is enough interest to do a second group project with this coin or a variation of it.... Mardi Gras is too close to the Leap Year events. It is February 21 this year I was refering to the original name of the coin and minting it as V2 ...even I know getting everything in place by Mardi Gras would be impossible. I'm also well aware of when Mardi Gras is... I've been working towards this years Mardi Gras for months already... my house looks like a parade float exploded in it... again, I was only suggesting a V2 ...setting it up and getting it ready by the 4th of July would work as far as I'm concerned... I'd still be interested... So you are talking about a similar but completely new design? Not just changing the colors as has been done many times for this one? exactly.... the first minting was so popular and well received by everyone that I think a second series would be successful as well... it's just an idea, but it may be worth looking into...

  17. my personal coin! ... I may be just a little biased with my decision
  18. questions... the samples show cut outs in the bottom legs, the blueprints show them as recessed metal. which is correct? are you numbering these as well as making them trackable? minor details, but inquiring minds want to know... cheers,
  19. just when I thought I made the naughty list and all I was going to get was a lump of coal in my stocking, I recieved a letter from myself with this lovely coin in it yesterday. Thank you "No L" for the wonderful gift! May your holidays be filled with the smiles you have shared with all of us this season....
  20. I'd give it some serious thought. I've been looking for somewhere to host my collection since geocoincollection.com bit the dust a couple years back. I held out thinking they would return again stronger and better than before, but I gave up on that idea a long time ago... I personally never thought that cointracking.com was user friendly and I could never make heads or tails out of the site navigations, so I've managed to stay away from there... You never know until you try, I'm sure there is interest in the idea. I find myself asking "do I have that one" a lot because I lost track of some coins over time and have acquired a duplicate or two because I don't have them listed anywhere these days... I say go for it...
  21. just rub it in why don't ya!?!... lol, just kidding! congrats on such an awesome addition to your coins... I'm green with envy....
  22. too cool! congrats on the gift... nice twist a play on words...
  23. a box full of these arrived in my mail today! All I can say is WOW! ...they turned out great! ...even better than I expected! The detail in the art is awesome! I think I'll go caching tomorrow just so I can drop a couple of these off in some remote caches that require a 5-7 mile Nature hike!
  24. I started with this geocoin idea well over a year ago. After taking my idea to Chris Mackey, he worked his magic and designed a beautiful piece of geocoin art. We then took the design to a LilyPad approved vendor,(hint "the man with the metal") and they were able to bring the design to life and produce a beautiful geocoin that I hope everyone finds as remarkable as I do. It is a Sherpa style, tag transporter geocoin that comes with one of those smathtags (or you can use your own personal tag thingie) It's called Seasons Of Change, and is inspired by Nature and the rustic Autumn colors everyone enjoys... Dimentions: 2" Thickness: 4.5 mm Finish: Antique Copper, Antique Silver and (*Limited) Antique Gold Enamel: soft Trackable: yes Icon: yes
  25. Which one? I have Space Coast & Emerald Coast (central). LionsLair version I've still got two or three for sale... contact me through my profile if you are interested in buying them...
