  1. We just started using a new eTrex 20 after using a Garmin 76 csx for years. Some say we traded down but I really like it for it's paperless caching feature. The accuracy seems to be a bit better also, especially under tree cover. Plus it's about a third the size of the 76 and I can stick it in my pocket when not navigating. I like the list of "found caches" too.
  2. Don't know if anybody posted this one yet but street light standards are way boring. I'll bet we have logged a hundred of them in different part of the country. Although a magnetic key holder up inside can add a star to the cache.
  3. I'm having the same problem with geocaches. Can't seem to delete them without them showing back up again.
  4. Ok, I hit the "where to" button and then the geocache button and all the preloaded caches come up. From there I click on each cache and click on "found". Guess what? They don't go away. Help!!
  5. Ok, I marked the cache as found but it does not go away. When I download more new geocaches they are added to the list of existing caches that I can't delete. Thanks for any help you can provide.
  6. Great and thanks for the help. I guess I can't remove caches in the field huh? It has to be done on a computer? Thanks again.
  7. I just got my new eTrex 20 and the first thing I did was load some geocaches. I want to load some more now but can't figure out how to delete the caches on the unit that I already found. Any help would be most appreciated.
  8. GeoBC , You are the bomb man. I can't thank you enough for your help. It works great now.
  9. All I seem to get is the cache description and cache logs. There is no hint or a hint field. I've tried several cache pages with hints, but with the same results. Thanks for the response.
  10. Used both GPX file and send to my GPS buttons with the same results. And yes there is a hint in the cache details that I'm loading. Thanks for responding.
  11. Hi everyone. I'm downloading caches on my new etrex 20 and I get the cache description and logs but no hint. Anybody run into this before. If so then how did you fix it. Thanks
  12. Yea, I use an Android myself and it works great when I have a signal. But living in the Sierra Nevadas of California the reception is pretty spotty.
  13. Mostly we cache on a Harley. My lady sits on the back and navigates.
  14. Yea, the paperless caching is what sold me, plus the affordable price. Also they claim it receives more satellites and not bothered by tree cover. My 76 csx was the top of the line when I got a few years ago and it can't seem to get me within 40 feet of a cache. Forget it if there's tree cover.
  15. Just traded in my Garmin 76csx for an eTrex 20. Anybody have one? And do you like it.
  16. I have a 76csx and have been printing cache information for a couple of years now. I bought a Palm v on ebay the other day hoping to do away with the printer and send cache documents to the Palm. Wrong!! I'm using a laptop with Vista and cannot make it happen. Any computer savvy cachers out there that can tell a total knothead how to do this. Lineman6746
