Geocaching Events On Feb 28th!
Cacheola Crew replied to TEAM 360's topic in General geocaching topics
I'll see if anyone in the Geocaching Hampton Roads group has a laptop that could be used for this. Our event on the 28th is here GHR Duck-in-side for Travel Bug Exchange -
Question If you make a web page (like the poster above did), Each time you find a cache, you will need to do the "generator" again and repost it on the web page, correct? Or Is there a way to link it so it updates automatically? My stats

Congrats, Dan! Can 500 be far behind? Janine

Our favorite thing to find so far was a spitwinkle key chain. (shown above) A lot of care went in to making it. Have one hanging from my key chain and it always reminds me that I should be caching. Cacheola Crew Mom

We'd come if we can (sometimes there are too many scout things on the weekends). Will you keep us all posted here in this thread? I can spread the word to the Hampton Roads VA group as well. Cacheola Crew Mom

The Geocaching Hampton Roads "Disorganization" will be doing something as well. Here we are last year, before we had a yahoo group. janine Cacheola crew -
Post A Pic Of Yourself Caching
Cacheola Crew replied to ChrisCindy's topic in General geocaching topics
Our very first find (October 2002). Look how excited they are! -
Ah, Wednesdays.....I seem to remember a Wednesday in December....Christmas Eve in fact, when we were out caching at 10:45 at night. We were hoping we got back before Santa arrived. J.O.

We found a new cache, Luther's Bug House, at 10:45 on Christmas Eve (and boy were our kids concerned about not being in bed yet!). We tried to find The Birds Have It cache in the early hours of New Year's Day (1am or so) and we ended up getting our first DID NOT FIND of the new year. Janine

Do we know the date yet ? Last year I think it was April 26th. Janine

I'd second the recommendation of Sherando Lake. We've stayed there twice and it was very nice. We have also stayed at Big Meadow. That was nice too, but one thing I remember about that one is that they have timers on the showers! Janine

We've got a group south of you as well. Janine

Related question: Is there any way to temporarily stop your watch list from sending emails for when you go on vacation. (similar to a "no mail" option on yahoogroups). I don't want to remove the caches from my watch list, but I would prefer not to have my inbox filling up while I am gone. Janine

We log DNF's because it helps fellow cachers who come after us and also helps the cache owner. We also consider it a challenge to find that cache later. We just found our 100th cache which was a previous DNF. We "saved" it for just that milestone. Janine

Congrats To Floopy! 1000 Finds In Nj Alone!

Way to go Floopy! Janine -
Our group has just started a game similar to what Leprecaun has posted (well, we plagerized him a bit, actually! But I hope he takes that as a compliment), so I like BeachBuddies idea of keeping both groups happy. Janine Cacheola Crew

Believe it or not, we STILL have the gift certificate! We are thinking of getting a digital camera, but we are so confused by all the options that we did not use the gift certificate yet. (well, that and the fact that he was ou to sea for 6 weeks!). There's lots of good caches down this way! Come on and visit us. We hope to hit another MGS event as well, if all the stars align just right. Janine Cacheola Crew

Locationless Caches....your Opinion
Cacheola Crew replied to BeDoggy's topic in General geocaching topics
I've browsed through the lists of them and some of them are interesting and would be ones I'd like to try. It does make you more observant. However, I also wish they were in their own categories, like benchmarks, so they wouldn't be included in our find count if we do go out and complete some. I'm thinking of creating a separate username, something like LocationlessCacheolaCrew just to log those. (AFTER I get my digital camera ) J.O. Cacheola Crew -
logged out and back in Trying again, third time could be a charm!

Good idea. Like this? I guess we could also put it in all our online logs, as well. Janine

Caching Christmas song....
Cacheola Crew replied to Wander Lost's topic in General geocaching topics
Just a bump for Christmas Day! These are hilarious!
