  1. Canned response to your only other question regarding a New colorado300 ? Considerable time registering??? wait until you look for a micro and then you can say you spent considerable time on something.
  2. At the Best Western City Place Inn - Dallas TX OK - I guess supposed to be a spinoff of "wish you were here", coords were mostly just a random click on the dallas area. i guess it wasnt an obvious enough joke. also, google maps shows that as the intersection of Main St and S. Ervay. Perhaps there is a Best Western there, dunno though. I got the joke - it was just funny it pointed to where it did -
  3. Member Features -> Instant Log Notification -> (Edit) the notification you made before. Change phone number in the Send to another e-mail address area.
  4. At the Best Western City Place Inn - Dallas TX OK - I guess
  5. I have a PCV cache and used a 'clean out plug'. The plug goes inside the pipe and has a gasket and a wing nut that tightens it. They are made to hold water back - thus will hold water out as well. Over a year with mine and dry as a bone. Sometimes they call them inspection or test plugs.
  6. OMHO - The Cache owner should put more work into creating the cache then is required for people who will be looking for it. That said, I would do it long hand and not look for a program. Actually, I would do it long hand several times just to make sure it is correct before I published it - That's just my 2 1/2 cents worth.
  7. I't would be funny just to draw some cloths on with a sharpie and leave the sticker on it - BTW, what's the point of the sticker?
  8. How do I know I won't like it until I've wasted my time looking for it?". Easy - the CO's last 15 have been hide a keys on the back of interstate guradrails.
  9. If you are aware of a violation you should report it to the reviewer. This one makes me scratch my head on the private property part. If I own the land and want to construct a castle with a moat for the purpose of hiding my cache - Why can't I if own the land. You can get away with a lot more if its your property, that is why they are guidelines and not firm rules. The reviewer try may however to discourage it. There is a lot of monkey see, monkey do in geocaching and people are likely to try to building that moat and castle in a state park if they liked yours. Thanks - now I need to rent a bull dozer

  11. Nope, not at all. Arrogance would be a 'in your face series' where you put a cache in front of all the local cachers houses - Hummm, there's an idea.
  12. Celebrating your 200th cache is just silly – LOL We went back 2x to make this our 200th one. Passed several P&G’s along the way
  13. Give it more time But, I joined in 2002 as Watchdog2020 and went 1671 days without a find. Yes, almost 5 years later I was able to start caching again and would have been not real happy if they deleted my name and reassigned it to someone else.
  14. I would also like to know. I have a Versipack and love it but the knock off one looks like a great trunk bag.
  15. If you decide to 'get into' Geocaching I would suggest you buy a hand held unit. Car GPS's are great to get you there but a hand held works so much better once you are off the road. Congrats of your 1st finds but the learning curve has just started. I'd wait for at least 50 or more before I tossed the 'Newbie' title aside. Have fun and happy caching.
  16. I went to the Rochester Geocachers web site and it says a Lammy is a little laminated FTF certificate.
  17. Has anyone but me wondered why the fish were not even cleaned? My hypothesis. The vehicle has a trailer hitch on it. The guys went fishing and put the fish in a live well on their boat. They get home after some kind of delay and the fish are all dead and the water in the well is hot. Not wanting to risk the chance of eating spoiled fish or have wives mad that they tossed the fish in the household trash, they go dispose of them. Taking one last look at the fish as they dump them. Only 'crime' looks like a minor illegal dumping.
  18. for the poster above you, i joined about a month and a half after you, and i'm 742251, so i guess 52,834 joined between us. 81364
  19. Tic-Tac container Hide-A-Key WITHOUT a baggie for the log Altoid box
  20. I would make it a puzzle cache multi where the 1st way point took you to a monument etc. where you have to use the information to calculate the 2nd waypoint. That way the cacher wouldn't be searching at all for an actual container or the next coords. written someplace.
  21. You would think that the police would get the coords. and 'reverse search' it to the cache page. Create an account and at least leave a Needs maintenance log. LOL Edit: Looks like the Bridge was a walk over at a park,
  22. So you place a hide a key under a park bench and it has a standard log book on the inside. You could sign the book, get your smiley and be on your way. But, on the outside of the case is written a Ottendorf Cipher like used in the movie national treasure. The cipher can be decoded using the monument directly next to the bench and takes you to a full size ammo can a 100 yards away. So you have a park and grab that could end there for your smiley or do a little work with the puzzle and get an ammo box. Of course the ammo box would not be allowed as another find or have a log book. Just lots of good swag to trade. Not to get the optional ALR thing all fired up again but could you tie it to one by asking if they want to find out how you fit a coffee mug in a micro or something silly like that. BTW: just an 'Idea' please don't shoot.
  23. Haffy is right - we've done it Ask the people to please put what picture number they used when they sign the log. That way you can put names with photos when you load them to the cache page. Edit a Link to a camera cache
  24. Agree but it's 10 miles to me - Waking up at 3:30am because your cell phone just went off because a new cache was published.
