Noob observation and suggestion for everybody
WatchDog2020 replied to gururyan's topic in How do I...?
400 caches and last weekend I had my 1st person ask what we were doing after an hour of searching. People usually don't even 'see you'. -
Is there really a cache on the moon?
WatchDog2020 replied to kime1809's topic in General geocaching topics
Wouldn’t man have had to actually land on the moon in order to place a cache. I suggest you find the old sound stage they used to film the moon walks and search there. -
100% agree - We have a cache around here that is very religious themed. At least there you know what to expect.

Maybe one a week. Every once in a while a new cacher loads his cache placement shotgun and fires at every lamp post he can find.

They should just bolt a Safe to the side of the house and put the combo in the cache description. - LOL

I would say Always sign the log.

I thought you were not permitted to bury the cache itself. I didn't realize that no digging of any kind was permitted... That blows my cache idea of a ground level trap door... Or does it? An abandon hand dug well would be pre-existing

Thanks. I was starting to think it was just me. I went into the forum section for my area and saw new caches post, but never got notification. Same here - drove right by a new cache (like 50 feet) on the way to work at 5:30am and could have had the FTF - GRRRRRRRRR

CacheKaiser - Download Google Earth. You can have it link to GeoCaching Network KML, that shows all the caches in an area (regular). The caches 'dance around' some but it will give you a good idea what's around. The program has a ruler so you can measure the distance from the cache in place (.10 mile), and the location you like. Plus, it shows all the fun stuff - like streams, deer trails etc. It will bring the fun back to looking for a cool location.

In my humble opinion - not interested - It's about the Journey, that is the reward.

Just wondering if anyone sent this thread to RomeSentinel.com who published the original story.

A length of REAL para-cord is a must. -
Received the following yesterday in regards to my mystery cache. . ‘I love the pleasure of cracking a puzzle but am stuck here. Is there a slight nudge you could send my way to get me on the right track?’ The rest of the e-mail had very detailed information on how they were attempting to solve. This is exactly how you ask for assistance.

Very well done. As someone who struggled through making one, I can fully appreciate the time and effort this took. -
I have the same thing going on with one of my caches GC21WB4 but have a FTF - so it can be done. I even updated with Geochecker and a clue and am still getting requests for the final coords -

Thought I'd post the photo -
looks like the name was bought in Aug 2009 and they haven't done anything with it yet.

Weird, uneasy feelings......
WatchDog2020 replied to Metalman1007's topic in General geocaching topics
You'll get more comfortable as time goes on but NEVER run away. That's a sure fire way to have the police called. You'll be amazed how many people don't even notice you, even if you think they do. -
Will send you an e-mail - jason
