  1. I was pondering the following the other day and I was wondering if anybody here had an answer to this question ?? They claim that all people in the world are connected within six degrees of each other. Apparently you always know somebody who knows somebody else etc. and within six connections you can get around the globe. Well I don't really buy that but that is not the question/discussion item. I was wondering how long it would take (how many steps) before all geocachers and caches in the world are connected ?? If all the caches and TB's I have found is one step, and then all the geocachers who have found those caches and TB's is the second step, and all the caches those geocachers have found is the next step, then how long (how many steps) would it take before we have all geocachers and caches in the world connected ?? I bet you this would defenitely be within six steps, maybe even less ?? Can somebody actually find this out ??
  2. Lisa, that wasn't what I was looking for, but that is a great site, I wish I would have found that before I came to London. Dodgydaved, that is exactly what I am looking for except I can't read the format, I will try to get some support from ExpertGPS, but if you have a .loc or .gpx format laying around let me know.
  3. I am currently visiting London for a temporary assignment. It has been great, I have found some caches close to the place I am staying and I have been hunting downtown. While doing this I have been looking for something though. I was wondering if somebody had marked all the London tubestations and saved them in a GPS file. It is easy to know to which tube station a cache is close too and it is even easier when you have had enough of walking to be able to find the nearest by station. I have been marking all the ones I have passed up on, but I was wondering if somebody who has been in London longer had made a file with all of them.
  4. I just wanted to check if I can still post on the new message board.
  5. I just installed the Mapsend Europe software. I already had the Mapsend US installed. However they seem not to be talking to each other. If I start Mapsend Europe I only have the maps in Europe and if I start Mapsend US I only have the maps in the US. How can I combine these two packages that one program sees both datasets ???
  6. Ok, After a month of posting nobody has sent me a link with something like this, except for one cache in Dallas. So I assume this has not really been done before. I guess the next step is just go ahead and do it and make one.
  7. We had a secret event too a while ago, but I can not tell you about it, otherwise it wouldn't be secret any more.
  8. I have an idea which might be a lot of fun, but I am actually pretty sure that I am not the first one to think of this. I was wondering what people think about or if they know about a site that already does this. Long intro: here the basic idea, you make a cache but in order to find it, you would have to look up some information on the internet. Some numbers in the final cache location or only given by the information you find on the internet. I like surfing the web and caching, and if think it would be a fun part of the cache. For example, look up a flight number for some obscure local airline in Russia from one city to another. Or lookup the time a great museum in South Africa is open and use that number in the cache. Any thoughts, comments, or links to caches that already do this.
  9. test two, now with actually reading the instructions
  10. Yep, I have seen that too. People claiming they log online that they found a cache, but it had to have been moved, as they found the spot where the cache was, but not the cache. Then the owner goes by and it is still right there where it is supposed to be. I guess some people are to proud to admit they did not find the cache, as they are perfect.
  11. I guess I didn't pose my question very well. Mapsend Topo and ExpertGPS allow me to download the trackinformation. However it looks like it only downloads the lat long information, not the date and time stamp of that location. I was wondering if there is a way to look at that date and time information.
  12. I have a question about when I generate a track on my GPS. I mean, when I just have it record data while I hike or drive. I know it records the time and the date information, and in the vertical profile (on my Meridium Plat) it shows me this time and date. My question is how do I download that information ?? Do any of the programs save that information ?? I can't seem to find the info in either Mapsend Topo or ExpertGPS. I would like to use it to calculate average speed of when I go biking or just to keep the information to remember which day I went where if I go on a trip.
  13. Well, if you like old cemeteries (and geocaching of course) check out the following cache: http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_details.aspx?ID=53917
  14. Another thing I would to see added is a rechargable battery. One that I could recharge with my car out let. So charge it when you drive, then use the battery during the hike.
