  1. It would be great to be able to toggle and filter out caches that are in Gamelands / Hunting Zones when doing searches or queries. I am a little suprised there is not a marker for these caches already when one sets / submits one, by now.
  2. Does anyone know if the following bill has been changed / enforced etc.? On 15 March 2005 the South Carolina Legislature introduced Bill H3777, which is entitled, "A Bill to Amend the Code of Laws of South Carolina, 1976, by Adding Section 16-17-605 so as to Define the Terms "Geocache", "Geocaching", and "Letterboxing", to Provide that it is Unlawful to Engage in Geocaching or Letterboxing in Cemeteries, Archeological Sites, or on the Historic Properties of the State, and to Provide a Penalty". Researching before our next SC Trip. Thanks
  3. Must have changed it as they dont except paypal anymore. Was thinking about buying from here (free shipping to Canada) but no paypal option, so I didnt. (lucky me ) I usually stick with local, hands on purchases for GpsRs, last 2 have been with Dick's Sporting Goods. Although, I do see many good looking deals via internet. Either way, I have found that the big retailers usually do not have a problem price matching other retailers, just show them in print. My Co. being one as well (Auto not GPS). For extras, such as cases, cords, antennas and the likes I usually use ebay; mostly GPSGEEK. I have no exp. with GPS Crazy, maybe that is a good thing - I dunno.
  4. For my GpsRs that use/used serial cables, I just purchase serial to USB short patch cables. Plug in simple, ready to go with latter versions of windows. They are pretty cheap now a days. Garmin even sells/sold them (Garmin GPS is my standard). Last one I purchased was on clearance at Wal-Mart. Hit up GPSGeek on eBay if you cannot find one, maybe he has one.
  5. First ever personal, non-survey GPS, Magellan 315; kept 1 week before returned. Second GPS, Garmin eMap, love it and still have it. Third GPS, Magellan Sportrak Map; returned also. Fourth GPS, Garmin Etrex Vista, purchased to replace Sportrak Map. So eMap & eTrex currently.
  6. Contacted Magellan by email, took six days to get email reply. Tried within that time to contact by phone. After leaving three messages, and having hold time of two hours on three calls; abandoned the phone method. Sent Sportrak back with RA # as instructed in email. No promises or suggestions of any kind what will take place. Real anxious for an answer from Magellan. I keep my equipment mint. I have had it probably two years, and it probably has only three hours of use on it. Possible mistake straying from garmin on this one chance purchase.
  7. Holy Cow, I just checked mine after stumbling upon this thread. Have had it a couple years, and I have small cracks as well. Honestly, I was not impressed with the unit anyway, but this is worse. Unit also bounces signal like rubber. Always have been a Garmin customer, but tried to save a few bucks on a deal. Never again, never had a problem with Garmin. This is my second Magellan (3?? way back, before Garmin switch) and last Magellan unit.
