  1. Being a Geocacher and a hunter, I would have to agree that the 2 should not mix during the hunting seasons, too much could go wrong.

Here is a new style Multi-cache called Fred. it is a 11 stage multi and you have no clue as to what the next stage is until you find it.
  3. Check out BassPro I have a pair of boots, like the link, that are good all year around.
  4. I use "easy GPS" to upload the file to my MAP330 and then download into Mapsend. I understand you might be able to use GSAK software to convert it, but I haven't figured that out yet. There are links to GSAK in the "GPS Software" forum.
  5. I use a MAP330 and am quite pleased with it. You can upload a very large area into its memory with the MapSend software (I can load almost 1/3 of the state of Ohio into it) and 500 waypoints at a time. It does take some time to get to understand "all" the features it has built in, but I don't think you would be disappointed with it. 6. We had a great time there. At one point we had a group of 5-7 people, all with different readings, searching for a cache that was 50 to 100 ft away from where we were looking. Most entertaining I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  7. It is possible that the translation must be interpreted by other people first, to insure the wording matches their criteria before being posted. Since the "Translation" would be a part of their website, there may also be copyright issues and other legal beagle stuff before getting it posted. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  8. It is possible that Magellan is relying on the SD cards to handle the brunt of the upload to make their program work. Our Map330's might not have the ram needed for it to work. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  9. Yes there has.....mostly from people hiding a cache on their own property in order to meet other cachers as I remember. I'm sure someone will be able to provide a link to that discussion. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  10. So I guess we'll be seeing another baby-boom if the power isn't back on before dark? I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  11. Please humor me a little since I'm not there to see what you are doing. 1) you downloaded the zip file 2) opened it in a directory 3) double clicked on the "PRC" file using windows explorer to get the Palm sych program running 4) saw the file listed in the window and clicked "Done" 5) then pushed the sych button on the cradle 6) looked in the "ALL" directory on the Palm to see the icon. Does this sound like what you have done? I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  12. I own a Giant Cypress, its a hybrid bike that is a cross between a mountain bike and a road bike, and cost me $300.00 at my local bike shop. I've gone on bike trails and mild offroad with it, and am very happy with the bike I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  13. Have you tried www.topozone.com ? It gives you the coordinates of the cursor. It doesn't go by address's, but you can find by the city and state. This may not be what your used to.... I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  14. If you already have Mobipocket reader, go ahead and check the box for ebook just under the loc/gpx part of the query and load it straight into your pda. that's all I do. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  15. Yea, but think of the bragging rights if they could land on the top of it. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  16. If you check the "Midwest" forum you will see your a little late. Look for "Mr.O" and his COG group that is already there in Columbus. So go there and meet your fellow cachers. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  17. heading west on I-70 there is GC293A "Travel Bug Transfer" near Springfield. There is also a virtual GC6FD4 "Madonna of the trail" Heading east on I-70 on the way home, you and the wife could stop for a quickie at the GC37AA "Hollow Stump" in the Rest Area. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  18. Would it be possible to get more pictures of different angles of a stone, please? Like the underside? I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.

  20. You can start by printing out a cache page and show them what you are talking about. Someone made a short movie presentation and posted it in a forum here about a month or so ago that was informative. I'll have to try and find it, unless someone else remembers it first? Found this in another forum http://www.weekendsusa.com/geocaching_info.pdf I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  21. I'm curious as to what it is you don't like about it? I had thoughts about getting one for my M125 at one time. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  22. I use a Palm 125 PDA, I chose it for several reasons. 1) it was inexpensive, I bought it on eBay for $75.00 2) It has an expansion card slot and all my geocaching software is on the card, so if any thing happens to the PDA the card can be used in another unit. 3) It takes 2 AAA batteries that are easily replaceable in the field. Many of the bigger models have rechargable internal batteries that you have to plug into something that you may not have in the field. 4) there are lots of freeware software you can get for it online. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  23. The really big question here is how to say we're sorry for the past indiscretions. They have already caught geocachers breaking some major rules (as I read in the first post). And now we need to improve a bad image. I whole heartily agree we should be doing something, but we must also be wary of "overdoing things" which would cause more trouble (being a pest). A CITO should probably follow some sort of letter of apology, I don't have a clue who should write it, I would guess the original hider?, followed by something from Groundspeak? With the invention of COG maybe a short formal letter from them? Your thoughts? I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.

    GPS HELP

quote:P.S. I should add that quite a few surrounding towns around me are not the friendliest neighborhoods to be riding your bike in either, especially after an exhausting 10 mile bike ride and it's now dark out!! Actually I average 45-65 miles a weekend trip on my bike. On one trip last june I rode 100 miles. I'm lucky to live in a bike path rich area. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
  25. I don't see where you have done any damage. I believe you have opened the door by getting them to express their reasons why caches are being banned. At least you have a point of reference now to work with. Is there any way to start off with a virtual that can be viewed using a known trail? A lot of people don't like virtual caches, but it would show the park people not all caches are a bad thing. I would hope that once they get used to cachers being around and not damaging anything, they might get into the spirit later on. My apologies that I am unfamiliar with their park system at the moment. I'm not Lost, my GPS says I'm right here....no over here......no over here.
