  1. Just curious what people use for rechargable batteries...if any. Currently in my 60CSX I just use non-rechargable ones. . . anything better?
  2. My regular alias is JaggedCylinder . . . I needed a name one time and found a program that randomly put words together...and that came out. When I started at the forums here, I wanted something would be a play on words or something relating to caching....hense Geo Jockey.
  3. I've only found 2 caches at this time...but I thought I would add my two sense. Personally...the thing that attracts me to Geo Caching is the experience of finding new places and the hunt...but I want the loot too. I found my first cache today, I actually had my mom with me...she was more excited than I was. Well, the hike was amazing and I found a new place to go hiking. I was pumped when my GPS beeped and started looking for the cache...and I was just as excited when I finally found it. When I finally opened it up and looked it...I was a little disappointed...a cache full of old toys, mctoys, and things I couldn't even identify. I was hoping to find something mildy useful...maybe a small flashlight or something. I dunno...when I look for stuff to put into a cache...I look for stuff I would want...part of the whole geo caching experience is the "cache"...I wish everyone would just keep the quality of a cache up.
  4. Well, I finally got my 60CSX and figured out how the hell to use it... I spent about 4 hours outside today (which is great, because had I not started this, I would have watched a lot of tv today) hunting for a few caches. I managed to find two and couldn't find the third...but dadgum did I have a great time doing it. I live about 2 minutes from a State Park .... a State Park that I have never gone hiking on, and thanks to geo caching I did hiked this amazing 3 mile trail. I give it two thumbs up.
  5. Hey Everyone, I figured this would be a good place to ask people about Arizona considering I think geocachers see a little more of their area than the muggles do. I'm currently residing in MA and am considering a move to AZ in November. I am traveling there in a couple weeks, staying at a place in Scottsdale and then driving around a scoping out the area (of course I will geocaching my way around as well). Just curious peoples thoughts on the place that have been there and/or lived there. Maybe somethings I should watch out for. I am a 25 year old guy, more of the outdoorsy type if that makes a difference to your post. Thanks!
  6. That's what I am going to do. Right now I am working on my signature items and getting my gear together. I did download the owners manual for my garmin but I'll wait till I have it in front of me...a little easier for me to learn it. Hopefully tuesday for delivery...why oh why didn't I do next day!
  7. So while I wait for my 60CSX to come in, I've been reading like crazy. Now I have a question. Do you think you can have too much information? I can understand using the information provided on the cashe listing page, but do you think using Google Earth gives you too much information? I mean, I think it takes a little fun out of it if you can zoom right in and get a birds eye view of the place before you go out there. What do you think?
  8. Fingers are crossed...but I might have my 60CSX today or tomorrow... I was visiting in FL and my friend had a geocaching pin in his car...I asked him about it and was instantly hooked. As soon as I got back home, I came here and then ordered. Why oh why, didn't I do next day shipping. While waiting for it, I've told a bunch of people about it . . . I know have groups of people that want to come try it with me when I get. Sweet!
  9. Sigh.... I'm sitting here on my couch reading through the forums patiently waiting for my GPS to arrive so I can finally start cache hunting. The anticipation is killing me! Sigh....
