  1. Since I work for the worlds largest supplier of lithium battery metal - I'm all for flashlights that eat lithium batteries. E
  2. Thanks for the advice. After spending some time on CPF I decided to order a Streamlight Strion. Eswau
  3. Well, it's now the 13th and the thread didn't get closed. Please email me and I'll give you the address to send me my $50. Eswau
  4. Is this still allowed? I've made two requests (3-4 weeks ago) to add our local website to the NC state page and haven't seen any action or received any response from GC.com. Is there certain channel I need to go through, or is it just something that's going to take some time? Please let me know if you need more info, but if you don't please add Charlotte-Geocachers.com to the NC state page. Thanks, E
  5. Also understand that not everyone knows about the "Missing" feature. I didn't until last week and had a TB listed in my cache for a year with no way to remove it. I know you said you emailed the owner and told them - which should mean that now they know, but I'm sure a lot of cache owners don't know about this feature yet. E
  6. Does anyone have one of the other brands (Streamlight) or other Surefire rechargable lights? Any + or - to them? Thanks- Eswau
  7. This cache: The Buckhead Dragon seems very popular and well received. It's smack in the middle of the trendy part of Atlanta - in case you're looking for a good urban cache. E
  8. Great - had no idea this was an option. Finally got rid of a bug that had been missing for almost 1 year but still showed up in my cache. I had even changed the cache description to say it was no longer in there. Several emails to the owner got no response. E
  9. Now there's a good reason for there to be two caches. Good luck-E
  10. Is that anything like Saturated Greece? E
  11. What about Geoevents? Some of them are as easy as driving to a restaurant (many times already ID'ed in the description (with no need to use coordinates to find)). What about Web cam caches? - Not finding any cache there. Not getting into the what counts/ doesn't count feud, just pointing out that in addition to questioning locationless caches, arguements could be made about other items. But you did say only real geocaches should count - so all three of them wouldn't count - which might be OK too.
  12. Another No-Find / One Hide scenario After I had been caching for a year or so, my wife was with me when we visited a Travel Bug Hotel about two hours from our house. At the time there was not one anywhere near us and she expressed an interest in having one near us. Well, I really wasn’t interested in placing a Travel Bug Hotel, so she went and created a user name and put one out near us, and started 2 Travel Bugs. She had been with me on many finds and has attended a couple of Geoevents, but has never bothered logging anything separate from me. So if you look at her profile, she has 0 finds and 1 hide. E
  13. I need to list 10 pictures in a cache description. Does anyone know where I can find a template or basic instructions to do that? So far my HTML experience has just been converting from word. Thanks, Eswau
  14. This subject has been discussed in the GeoCarolinas Yahoo group, but in case some of the Charlotte (and surrounding areas) Geocachers aren't subscribed to the Yahoo group, I wanted to point it out here. There has been an off and on discussion over the Charlotte NC area having some type of local webpage/club setup for the past year or so. Now it looks like it has enough people interested that it will probably happen. We're currently accepting small donations for the costs of registering a name and paying hosting fees. We have some people that have volunteered for website developing, but I'm sure we could use more people to do that. We are also trying to come up with a name for the site/group, hopefully one that geographically points out Charlotte, but also includes the surrounding areas. Please contact me or NCParrotheads if you would like to donate, help or with any questions or advice. Thanks, Eswau
  15. I would actually like this. I always read the email logs when someone finds my cache but don't automatically go read it on the cache page. Later I might be skimming one of my caches and notice that there are pics on it that I didn't even know were there. Sometimes, the pics are loaded days/weeks after the log was enetered. I'm not a computer person, but it appears that GC.com can handle sending out lots of emails (unlimited watchlists for an example), so I can't imagine added notifications when pics are listed would tax the system (but I really don't know). I would also like to see the gallery feature put on the TB pages. E
  16. Another suggestion about event cache listings (again, may have already been discussed) I usually notice event caches on the state page where they are listed seperatly. As the system works now, it grays out the event on the day it happens. So if you have an event at 6pm and it's now 10am, it will already be grayed out, making it look like the event has already happened. Not that big of a deal, but it might make someone miss it that could have atteneded that day. E
  17. Of the ones in Charlotte that I've done, Galaxy Cache is one of my all time favorites. Charlotte Poker Run is a great cache that will take you all over Charlotte, but this cache could take you 3-4 hours to finish. Top Cat has hidden several caches that are related to each other, so you could get to one park and find 3 or 4 connected caches. Adventuretom's caches are well thought out and he has put a lot of work developing great story lines to go with them. There are plenty of others, but I'll let someone else give you their suggestions. Eswau
  18. I would have to vote for this one: Let's Do Dallas Not only was it the first ever cache placed in Dallas, you learn a lot about the history of Dallas. Have fun with it Eswau
  19. As someone who works in a scientific laboratory, I won't even touch how far they stretch some of their lab tests (our GCMS takes ~1 hour to run - theirs about 1 minute). However, what I really think is funny is when a CSI person goes and interrogates a suspect. I'm not in law enforcement, but I have to believe this isn't done in the real world.
  20. I had a Geo Accident once - I thought I just had gas, but I was incorrect.

    Cache Bandits?

I know it exists because I have a roll. It's not here with me so I don't remember the pattern ,but it has the typical leaves green/brown etc. I don't remember where I bought it but I got it locally at a store, so I'm guessing WalMart or Lowes Home Improvement. I also know there is paint made for painting on plastic, so you might want to look for that also. Eswau
  22. Looks like all of the questions have been answered, but yes I was refering to an non offical license plate. Here in NC where we can basically put anything on the front we want, most car dealers stick one of theirs on when you buy a car, other than that you see alot of sports teams, bars, etc. E
  23. Full license plates (for those of us that don't have to have 2 state plates). I've been looking to change out my Atlanta Braves plate. E
