  1. Maybe Little Alien entered that name without even trying LittleAlien. Could have been a coincidence. The first guy probably didn't help his case by suggesting an optional name to the 2nd guy (or gal). The first name I wanted was taken so I went with my current one. I didn't search varations to see if anyone had one similar, though not exactly the same situation as this case.
  2. With Max Entropy. While I'm not really getting anything for my $30, I was so impressed with this website and the work that has been put into it I didn't mind spending the $2.50 a month to support it. Geocaching is one of the few hobbies I enjoy that doesn't require much money. My other interest is high power rocketry and the national dues just to be able to participate is ~$100 a year, plus club dues @ ~$25 a year, plus daily launch fees of ~$5-10 a day. Not counting the rocket motors that can run anywhere from $10 - $100 and up each...........but I digress.
  3. If you are going to buy the Vista - make sure you buy it soon. The $50 Garmin rebate offer ends 12/31/02. Eswau
  4. Nevermind - I did a search and saw that this topic was discussed back in Oct. I usually try and do a search first - but just didn't this time. Tried to delete original message but just learned you can't do that. Eswau
  5. Santa brought me a Garmin V for Christmas and family obligations and now work, have keep me from exploring a lot of the features of the unit. I did turn it on and take it with me on a 2 hr drive yesterday (more family obligations). I was surprised to see that the unit tracked my driving MPH. I noticed that it was consistently 3 mph different (slower) than my Honda's dashboard reading. My question is, which one is correct? My guess is that it is the GPS, but thought I would check with other users also. Thanks, Eswau 560 (OA-WWW) [This message was edited by Eswau on December 26, 2002 at 06:48 AM.]
  6. I had a 74 Thing a few years ago, but had to let it go as it got almost impossible to find parts. So it got where it just sat there. Kinda miss her. Todd
  7. Mine is a piece of Southern folk pottery made by the late Burlon Craig from Vale NC. Called a devil face jug.
  8. Have you considered trying to sell your clubs locally and then using the money for a GPS unit? Most semi large cities have sports consignment shops or there is always the classifieds or maybe eBay. I'm just guessing here - but people probably don't want to pay to have a large heavy box shipped to them (I didn't understand who was responsible for the shipping cost of the clubs). I'm not a golfer but I would also think someone would like to hold/try the clubs before making a several hundred dollar value trade. Shop them around locally - and good luck. Eswau
  9. When looking at specs of different GPS units on the Garmin website, it lists different choices for base maps, for example: "Americas Highway or Atlantic Highway or Pacific Highway". When ordering a GPS from someone like Amazon, how do you know which map set up you will get?

  13. They were also in a Target in NC. I was surprised to see them hanging on hooks in the camping section and not locked up in the electronics case. Todd
