  2. For acquiring sattelites, it may take a couple minutes...if you are under tree cover it may take even longer, inside a room or building you will most likely not get anything unless you're near a window. On the maps, I would check garmin's website and see what they have to say regarding that. Jayman11 Shop4Swag.com Your Complete Geocaching Source! Join us on Facebook or Google+.
  3. Rite in the rain logs are the best to use. Just opening and closing a container especially in humid conditions lets in moisture and the rite in the rain logs will still stay together and be able to written on. 10. I have the garmin mount right on the stem of my mtn bike. Works great and keeps the GPS a bit lower profile and reasonably safe if I crash. Worth every penny/ Are you talking about these? Love that coin!
  11. Correct, there are also quite a few different styles/sizes.
  12. When was that started? Noticed we're already on there.
  13. Yes and no. You can load geocaches into them however it's hard to get real accurate as they're made for road navigation. Also, a vehicle GPS is not made for the outdoor elements, a little rain or a drop to the ground might break it easily. Handheld is the best way to go, or if you have an iPhone, they also work excellent other than the battery life.
  14. a handheld gps is definitely the way too go. car units tend to not be made for outdoors. One drop and they could be a goner. Plus the handhelds tend to be more accurate when walking. Easier to be more precise. I bounce back and forth between an iPhone and a handheld GPSr. I have just as good accuracy with iPhone as I do with the handheld but battery life is a lot less on the smartphone.
  15. those are cute. wow there's a lot of editions.
  16. I use a small msi netbook with gsak on it. Works perfect. Easy to travel with!
