Sorry to hear about the experience you had with a particular vendor. Not all of us Geocaching suppliers are like that. A lot of us are cachers too and take pride in supplying the items for a hobby that we also love! Read through the forums and you will find a descent amount of information from others experiences. Cool idea....but the problem is, you're always gonna have someone that won't play by the rules and will see something cool in there and just take it.

I've been using one for a while and had one issue, not the same. The unit wouldn't boot up, just kept spinning. I gave magellan a call and they took it back under warranty and I had another one back from them about 10 days later. Give them a call, I'm sure they will take care of you.

For me, the worst by far was chiggers. Haven't been in tall grass since!

Try doing a larger size cache at first. If it is a micro they can be really tough especially at first. Some of them are the size of the eraser on a pencil.

I had a similar problem with my own unit. I called magellan and they replaced the gps for me. Try giving them a call. They were very helpful.
