  2. Check this out! These people were either the best thing to happen (or the worst depending on who you talk to) to this area Team KFWB here is their bio.... Biography: TEAM KFWB GPS HAS BEEN ACTIVELY INVOLVED IN PLACING CACHES ALL OVER CALIFORNIA, NEVADA, OREGON, UTAH AND BRITISH COLUMBIA SINCE 1989. OUR INTRODUCTION TO THE GEOCACHING WEBSITE IN SEPTEMBER, 2002, HAS PROVIDED THE PERFECT VENUE FOR US TO SHARE OUR ONGOING FASCINATION WITH THIS SPORT. SINCE THEN, WE HAVE HAPPILY INDULGED OURSELVES CREATING WHAT WE HOPE, ARE THOUGHT PROVOKING, CHALLENGING, BUT ABOVE ALL, EXCITING CACHES FOR TEAMS TO ENJOY. These people have put literally tens of 1000's of $ into their caches... Sooooooooooooooo to say you shouldn't be able to put caches in until you get a certain amount found isn't right

  4. ***BUMP*** Here is a post of mine from another thread "I have been using "Map it" for some time now. I'm from Canada, I thought it was always gray... I was messing around with it and Zoomed Waaaaaaay out and thats when I noticed that south of the border there was a real map under the caches ... To see what I mean find a cache in the states near the border and zoom out... Will we get real maps eventually up here? I would sure use the feature a heck of a lot more" Reading the posts from this thread, it would seem that other countries have maps in " Map It" But Canada doesn't... Whats the Scoop? Thanx

  6. I am looking for Power Point presentations on Geocaching and GPSrs in general.. I have to give a lecture on something I like to do and this would be a great way to "spread the word" the people I will be talking to come from all across Canada... I will make my Power point presentation available to all once it is done. If you could email me your presentation I would be gratefull... Just follow the link to the right to email me.............................................. If the moderator could leave this up till Sunday night before moving it over to another thread, it would be great Coast2coast2coast
  7. the owner posted to his cache page that he deleted his logs in error. He is trying to see if they can be put back on. is it possible?
  8. I recieved an email from the fine folks at Geocaching.com stating that one of my find logs had been removed... I found this cache last July... The owner archived the cache after it was stolen... I don't know if all the other logs were deleted but mine was... The cacher made a new cache out of the old one ( used the same name)... Many of the caches I have found have been archived, but no one has deleted the logs... is there anyway I can get my find back???????? Coast2coast2coast
  9. HeHeHe the Helo guys did! They had to leave a whole bunch of stuff there so they could pick up the 4 survivors...( they went back later and picked it up) I was joking with my crew... I said " If this was a Geocache I would have found it long ago" Coast³
  10. About two o’clock this morning I found the Ultimate geocache . I’m part of an Air Force Search and Rescue unit on the West Coast of British Columbia. We got a call last night of a crashed air plane and off we went. We heard that a small aircraft with 4 persons on board had crashed and relayed their GPS position to an over flying commercial air plane before the radio died. We arrived at the location and dropped a flare, which made the mountainside look as if it were daytime. We did this for over an hour with no luck dropping flare after flare. One of our Squadron helos came and helped in the search. This continued for close to an other hour when one of our crew members spotted a faint light in the trees through his night vision goggles. We flew over the strobe light and low and behold there was the air plane in perfect condition in the tall trees (the aircraft had its own parachute!) We called the Helo over and they plucked 4 survivors in perfect condition . The air plane was close to 8 miles away from the lat and long the pilot sent the commercial air plane (He should invest in a Garmin) Now that is the Ultimate First To Find!!!! Edit ....Typo
  11. I know this has been brought up before, but with all the changes made recently on the cache pages maybe I'm missing something... There are caches on my closest to page that I will never ever do... Other then lying and logging them as "found" is there any way to get rid of them off of my closest to page? Coast
  12. Hi I hate to be a "poop-head" but when I see a thread titled..."Are There Any Kids Here"... all kinds of red flags go up!!!... I know that it more then likely is just a Youngster wanting to meet other Junior-Geo's but in this day and age you never know... So if you are a young person and you reply to this, remember to be carefull...
  13. Cachers around here say that the only reason my cache dog (ZOE) keeps me around is because she can't figure out how to use the Legend! And I ain't gonna teach her otherwise I'm sure she would go without me! Coast
