  1. Thanks for the help guys! This will help greatly at getting my baby up and running!! She thanks you too!!
  2. Hey everyone..... I just bought my daughter a Explorist 210 for a good starter gps. She loves it. Now I need to get pq's added to it? How is the question? I use GSAK and I download to my Lowrance H20c with no problems. This Geocache manager is different. I know this might have been asked before and, any help would be greatly appreciated. Just the basic's to get me going is all I need.
  3. I'll say I have to like them. I have one hidden in a really old cemetery with hand made stones. I placed mine away from any headstone or marker. Every reply has been good. My daughter and I love to go find them. Its always peaceful. There are hundreds in East Texas alone and most of the hiders have done there homework in placing the caches. Now, mind you this is my 2 cents and I can see why others might not like them. If you go into a cemetery with numbers on your mind..ie, just another cache, you may never see who is there. We go in with the idea being respectful and you often learn something when your not even trying too!
  4. This post caught my eye and was wondering, how you guys liked the 210 unit?? I'v been thinking about getting one for my daughter to geocache with. Thanks in advance for any input you guys might have.
  5. OK, I've got a wierd one here. I haven't been caching for a while due to real life but I'm back now. I pull out my trusty Lowrance H2oC, I start to load it with new way points and I get this error that comes up........."There is not enough data storage left for all the user data. Some data was not loaded." Needless to say, I've re-read my manuel several time looking for what I need to do to load my waypoints and I haven't been able to find anything. Yes, I've hit the reset options thing several times... that didn't work. What gets me, I can go down to the "Check free storage" and it says it has 17% useage. I have no idea how to clear that out either. I've updated the unit with the newest software from the Lowrance site today.... same problem. So, anyone out there have an idea where I need to go next? The unit still works fine other than I can't use a memory card for my waypoints. Oh yeah, I was using a 2 gig card, dropped back to a 1 gig card......same problem. Thanks in advance for any help. 6. I've gotta chime in with a cache I found. The owner used a one gallon kitty litter jug. Wide opening of about 4" and really big and waterproof. The owner camo'd it well and it held quite a lot of stuff. I like lock-n-locks myself. Not hard to paint if you use that new Kryon Fusion paint for plastic first, then other paint will stick to it fine.
  7. How much cash money are looking to get for your unit?
  8. I just tired runing as well and come up with the same error. Guess its on GC's end. Also tired to delete one and I get the same responce!

  10. Another newbie question here..lol I've been reading the forums for a while now and I've decided on buying one of the 2 above. At Lowrance's website, if you compair both of these units, the Expedition has an electronic compass, barometric altimeter, music playback, microphone, and scout Mode. The H2O doesn't have these features but is identical otherwise. Also, I can't anywhere on the Lowrance site if either have the new SiRf III chipset. Beside the big price difference, I can carry a compass in my pocket and save money. I'm thinking I don't need a lot of the Expeditions extra features but I'd like to know if anyone is using the H2O for caching. I know several people are using the Expedition C and are loving it. Thanks in advance. Thinkso
