  1. Wow, there's like 40,000 topics here so probably this is covered, if so, I'm sorry. I have a magellan explorist 500 that works great. I'm looking to purchase an auto GPSr. I don't want to take it out in the woods geocaching, but I would like to have the geocaches in the auto unit and then switch over to the Magellan for the detail work. I've been looking at the Garmin Nuvi 200. It's relatively inexpensive (very important), You can imput coordinates, and I saw a thread on here that details how to get a pocket query onto the unit relatively easy. How does this sound so far? Any other thoughts or suggestions at different units that will meet my needs? Any thoughts would be appreciated. Thanks so much. JpO
  2. ok, i see that now, I'll have to look a little more into this I guess....
  3. Actually I was using MapSend Streets & Destinations, I had no trouble with the first two I made.....hmmm, I'm even more confused now.
  4. I have the same problem but I can't find in the Mapsend software where I can change the serial number. It doesn't ask me where the owner's manual says it should......HELP!!!
  5. I should add, I've not changed anything with my GPSr or the software since I made my original detail maps and those got saved as *.imi files, so there shouldn't be an issue of software upgrades, etc. It worked before but it won't now. Thanks again!
  6. Ok, if this is answered somewhere else then I'm sorry but I can't figure this out. I have the Magellan Streets program and have made detail maps for my Explorist 500 before, but it has been a while since I'd done it. They worked fine. I tried to make one last night and when I clicked to upload to GPS, then save to HD, it saved it as an *.img file. It skipped the step of asking my serial number so I think somewhere, somehow it's not getting it to the *.imi file. WHY???? *banging my head on the desk*. I even tried re-installing the software and it still won't work, I can't even test the GPS unit because I hook up through USB, not the COM ports. This is very frustrating, please help!!!!!
