Lowrance endura users, need your help
ic3scrap3r replied to Terp 00's topic in GPS technology and devices
So did you transfer the file from GSAK or from something else? Also, can you browse the GPS from My Computer? Mine shows "Page cannot be displayed" when I attempt to open the J: drive which is what the Endura shows up as when connected. -
Will this unit accept map data from microSD cards loaded from Lowrance's Map Create software? I have 6.3 and 7.0 and would like to know I don't have to buy new software for detailed maps!

Lowrance Endura touchscreen series
ic3scrap3r replied to Redwoods Mtn Biker's topic in GPS technology and devices
Does anyone know if I can use MapCreate 7.0 to load a microSD card with detailed map data for usage with the Endura Out&Back. I've sent an e-mail to Lowrance Support with the question, but I can't get through on the phone. If I find out that I can use my existing mapping software, then I'll be ready to pull the trigger on this one. I love my iFinder M&M and am ready to upgrade. -
+1 I miss the listing of caches on the side that corresponded to a numbered point on the map!

I've recently started geocaching on my motorcycle. It's the only way I can afford to cache now! It is MUCH easier on the pocketbook, but harder on my equipment-wise. I usually carry quite a bit of stuff with me, much of it to repair caches, etc. Now it's: A few small trade items GPSr Palm Pilot for paperless caching I need to get/fabricate a good mounting bracket for my GPSr on the Triple-clamp or on the handle bars as well as hard wire the cord into the electrics.

Why would you "cut/paste" rather than clicking on what's already provided -- the Google Maps link or the Geocaching.com Google Maps link (which shows nearby caches)? Because it isn't working. That is the whole point of this thread.

Lowrance iFinder H2O plus accesories
ic3scrap3r replied to user13371's topic in GPS technology and devices
How about a BUMP for an honest trader. I purchased some Lowrance software from Lee months ago. It was a smooth transaction and exactly as advertised. I wouldn't hesitate to do business with him again. (But I'm good in the iFinder H2O department!) -

Lowrance iFinder Explorer Plus
ic3scrap3r replied to Steel City Seekers's topic in GPS technology and devices
This is a nice unit. I bought one of these for my Dad. I use an iFinder Map & Music which is almost exactly the same unit. Lowrance doesn't get alot of good PR in the Geocaching world, but they perform great. Both of ours keep a lock under a pretty heavy canopy and have helped us find over 150 caches in a little over 4 months. If you look at the specs, these perform as well as the new top of the line color Lowrances. They just don't have color and I think 6 less channels. (The still have 12 channels vs. 18. How many satellites can you see at a given time?) Short version - A good GPS for geocaching. We've enjoyed ours. -
I would be interested in these as well. I have a Map & Music and my Dad uses an iFinder Pro.

Compare Lowrance Expedition C vs New Garmin X series?
ic3scrap3r replied to ICHTHYS's topic in GPS technology and devices
I would be interested in this as well since I am a Lowrance iFinder user, but all the Geocachers praise the Garmins. -

Magellan Sportrak Pro and MapSend streets
ic3scrap3r replied to baby jojo's playpen's topic in GPS technology and devices
I hope any comments you get are good! I just bought a Sportrak Pro and Mapsend for cheap, but I still hope it's decent. It hasn't arrived yet, but if nobody has commented by the time I do, I'll let you know. -

Palm IIIxe w/ accessories for sale.
ic3scrap3r replied to geowego's topic in GPS technology and devices
Bump for a good paperless caching unit. I have the same one with the closest 500 cache pages stored on it! -
Also try to choose a cache that has been found very recently according to the logs. Looking for a cache that is missing can be frustrating.

iFinder Expedition C vs. iFinder Map & Music

OK, now those are kind of cool. My M&M does indeed not have those Icons.... -
iFinder Expedition C vs. iFinder Map & Music
ic3scrap3r replied to ic3scrap3r's topic in GPS technology and devices
OK.... So far it is a color screen and : Expedition C - Precision 16-parallel channel GPS+WAAS receiver Map & Music - Precision 12-parallel channel GPS+WAAS receiver The compass and barometer aren't a big deal to me. If they were free, I'd pick up the model that had them, but at a cost, they don't do anything for me. How big a difference are the additional 4 channels going to make in the real world? Has anyone had experience with these units side by side in the woods? Downtown area? My M&M keeps a good lock under heavy tree canopy and inside my house. So I can't imagine this doing a whole lot for me.... Dang...It looks like I'm trying to talk myself out of the Expedition C.... That was not my intention! -
iFinder Expedition C vs. iFinder Map & Music
ic3scrap3r posted a topic in GPS technology and devices
So. What does the Expedition C offer that the Map & Music doesn't besides color? I'm thinking about asking for this for my birthday. (Honey can I go buy this new GPSr?) I've been on the website and I'm having a hard time seeing a big difference. So you Lowrance gurus, now is your chance to show your stuff! -
Newb with a question about low end and hig end units...
ic3scrap3r replied to djstretch's topic in GPS technology and devices
I've also been very happy with the signal lock on my Lowrance iFinder Map & Music (It's also an MP3 player which is kind of cool and kind of cheezy). At any rate, it keeps a great lock under tree cover. It may bounce a bit in VERY heavy tree cover, but never actually loses position.
