  1. Personally I commend you for not "letting it go". In my opinion that's a lazy way out! The publisher has failed to answer even one of my many emails as to what has happened with my subscription. Heck, I would have been happy with just an apology, but to ignore me and everyone else who subscribed to this magazine is downright wrong! Good luck with your endeavor and please post your progress, I'd love to find out what the outcome is. Cheers.
  2. I agree with you 100% I'm sorry the magazine didn't work out but I'm not just going to eat it! I want my money back minus the one issue I received. I've made numerous attempts at contact, to no avail and now I'm tired of being ignored! Can anything be done? Thanks.
  3. Hello, Does anyone out there subscribe to Geocacher Magazine? I subscribed back in February and my credit card was billed on 02-24-2008. I still haven't received my magazine and my emails to the magazine go unanswered. Any feedback would be appreciated. Thanks.
  4. I have a concealed handgun license and usually carry when I'm out caching. I hate to say it but in today's world I just don't feel comfortable without a means of defending myself or my family if need be. God willing I'll never be put in a situation where I need to use it but last week my fiancé, my son, and myself were looking for a cache that was out of the way and near the cache site we ran into 3 men that had been drinking at the location and who were all pretty well lit. As soon as they spotted us they became very routy, saying explicit things to my fiancé (in front of my 7 year old son) and trying their best to get me to engage back in this confrontation. After some some creative talking I finally convinced them that it wasn't worth it and they stumbled off. But, I have to admit that I was frightened and honestly thought it was going to resort to me having to pull my gun out to get these guys to back off! After a few minutes we left as well (I wasn't worried to much about the cache at this point). I just wanted to get us out of there. Just a quick personal experience to share, watch yourself out there.

  6. The back of the coin says it's trackable and it's got a tracking number on the coin.
  7. I just purchased a 2005 "Not Another Micro" Geocoin from eBay and I can't activate it. I go the the coins website (www.geocoin.net) and go the the coin activation page. There is a drop down list with very few coins that you can activate and mine isn't on the list (although a picture of my exact coin appears on the websites front page). I was able to click on the coins picture and go to the coins page and successfully register the coin but I want to activate the darn thing so the icon shows up on my trackables list. Any suggestions would be greatly appreciated as there is no contact information (that I could find) on the web site.
  8. I cache alone most of the time. I have a concealed weapon permit and wouldn't think about heading out into the woods or any unfamiliar place for that matter, without my trusty Glock 27 (which fits very nicely in the smallest of fanny packs). God willing, I hope I never have to even remove it from my "geobag" but the fact remains, this world we live in isn't what it used to be and there are a lot of weirdo's out there that get their kicks out of harming descent folks. I feel a lot safer when out caching, knowing that if need be I can defend myself. It's better to be safe that sorry.
  9. Mine stays lit for about 15 seconds then turns back off, even with fresh batteries. The unit is fairly new to me, maybe there is an option for the length of time it stays on but I haven't found it yet.
