  1. Anybody around that area that could go to this on 11/6? It would be nice if they would at least "grandfather" this cache. https://www.facebook.com/events/509089889451980/
  2. I'm having the same problem as everybody else. I just created a new pocket query this morning and it says 0 pocket queries available to download. I guess I shouldn't have been trying to do this last minute!
  3. In my opinion, kinda hard to disable the event last minute like that. Not everyone checks the website or their email before they head out. Turns out we have about 1 to 2 inches of snow on the ground this morning. I guess we will go do the best we can.
  4. I posted this in the CITO forum, but thought it might get more traffic in this spot: The current bad weather, delayed spring that we are having in the Upper Peninsula of Michigan (Marquette) is threatening to disrupt my CITO event tomorrow! Here is the current radar for the area: Predicting an inch and a half of snow between now and 8am tomorrow. Three hours west of here has received 20 inches today already! Does anybody have suggestions for contingency plans?

  6. I was at an event yesterday and we discussed doing an 11-11-11 event. So I came to the forums to see if I could find anything official about it and came across this thread. Looks like it's too late to get in on the whole coin thing eh?
  7. For everybody's negative responses about this app, I just wanted to add a positive one. I love using this app and the capability of logging my geocaches while out geocaching. I live in an area that got an 3G signal upgrade 6 months ago and I have noticed a big difference using this app on the 3G network compared to E (Edge). I mostly still use my GPS for finding caches but probably end up using my phone 10% of the time for finding. I have submitted several suggestions for improvement in the Groundspeak Windows Phone 7 Apps Feedback Forum and most of them are under review as of a couple days ago. Glad to know they are listening! Excited about the update that's coming, hopefully everything can get straightened out with Microsoft soon!
  8. When I select the cache I am searching for, on the description page, there is a button on the bottom that is the icon of a unfolded map(first one on the left). I select that, the map screen comes up and on the top it says how far I am away from the geocache. From that same map page, you can also select the button/icon (the third one from left) of the compass. That one shows you the coordinates of your current location, coordinates of the cache location, and the distance of how far away you are from it. I can try to take screen captures from my phone if you like so I can better expain what I mean. Let me know. Hope this helps!
  9. I use the WP7 app on the Samsung Focus also. I find that I generally never use the coordinates listed by the app on the start up screen. Also I have never compared them to what my Garmin 62t says my coords are either. What do you use the coordinates for if I may ask?
  10. I'm not sure if this is the right place to put this comment/ask this question but I will give it a-go. I once in a while use my Windows Phone 7 to geocache and also once in a while put suggestions for improvements in the "Geocaching for Windows Phone 7" Forum. Under the "Notices From and Conversations with Groundspeak Subforums" header on the main Forum page I see listed links to the iPhone Forum and the Android Forum but no direct link to Windows Phone. What's up with that? The only way that I know of to get to it is by clicking on either one of those forums and then Windows Phone 7 shows up as an option/link on the right. Why isn't the Windows Phone 7 forum listed right there along with iPhone and Android on the main page? I know it's there, but why do I have to dig to find it? And maybe they would get more feed back if there was a link to it on the main page along with Android and iPhone.

  12. At an event we have done with Temp Caches, we have typed all the coordinates into GSAK ahead of time and made downloads of them available to anybody who was interested. Also in the cache page, requested they bring their GPS cable with if they were interested and it wasn't the standard Garmin mini usb connection.
  13. Wow! Looks like a lot of work went into the planning of that one! I like all your suggestions AlabamaRambler So what type of events does everyone else like?
  14. I have never been to an Amazing Race type event before, (or have I watched the show). How do these events work?
  15. Just a question to throw out there for discussion. What has been the most creative event you have attended? Or what format do you prefer? Meet & Greets? Temp caches?
  16. Does anybody know if it is too late to submit a 10th anniversary event?
  17. My cell phone company is At&t. The only other company in the area are Alltel and im not really sure I want an iPhone.
  18. That has nothing to do with finding satellites. I was just offering a suggestion, sorry.
  19. I've been looking at upgrading my cellphone to one that I can geocache with. What is everyone's experience with caching with one and what works well and what doesn't? Thanks

  21. Can someone explain to me what the meaning of the "D" is?
  22. Have you calibrated your GPS? I have a 60csx as well and I find I have to calibrate the compass if it has been off and is 100 miles or more from where I last had it on. To calibrate it, go to the compass page and hit the menu button, calibrate is in there and just follow the on screen instructions.
