  1. ...and Travel Bugs cannot officially visit Bench Marks anyway...but if only they could.

Can a TB or coin be dropped (visit) at a Waymark?

    I didn't think so.

I had guessed I would not be able to log the TB in the benchmark but I had envisioned writing a note on the TB page and referencing the name of the benchmark. I guess I can still create the waypoint and just cut and paste the URL into the TB log <_< .

    Thanks again for the input!

  2. Hello, I am new to these forums and I suspect this is an old story but, I have not been able to sort through the info after about an hour of reading. I was hiking in the white mountains (in New Hampshire) this weekend and since they have forbidden geocaches on the appalachian trail, there were none to find but when I got to the top of the first 4000 foot mountain I had ever climbed, I found a benchmark there. It said "US Geological Survey Benchmark" and the name appeared to be "Mt Pierce". The date was 19??. I can post a pic when I get home tonight. The coords were N44 13.585 W71 21.960. All weekend I was looking forward to logging a find for this benchmark and writing a note for my walking stick travel bug to say it was there and I get home and check gc.com and no benchmark ;) . I could not navigate through the waypoint section to see if it exhists there already and...... I am getting frustrated! What I really want to do is have it added to the gc.com site. Is that even possible??? I feel like I have already worked harder than I have for some 5/5 caches <_< Any guidance appreciated!

  3. Tsun, for all the newbs like me please decipher GCF in SLC!! :) And waypoint if there is one??!!

Will you have some way for those of us who don't attend the event to be sure to get them??

The armadillos are too cool to miss!! Thanks, Kelly

GCF in SLC = geocoinfest in salt lake city :anibad:

  4. Yes, nerve wracking  but in a good way  .

My sent email said it went at 10 on the dot. Now is the time to cross fingers :anibad: Good luck everyone! :D

  5. 1) Not rain, nor snow, nor dark of night will deter determined geocachers (or at least us).

    I can second that!!! :D

Thanks for the memories...we had a blast.

    And that too :P

  6. Yalehockeymom and I made a road trip out there in February with my daughter to finish up the counties (we had not done before GCF) and I have to say it was some of the most fun I have had caching! They sure know how to make snow up in that corner of the state and even though YHM tried to convince me my Subaru was not a snowmobile, there were several times it proved her wrong :D I have to recommend the trip to anyone even slightly interested! The caches were fun and the area is beautiful!!!! And then on top of it....COINS!!!!

  7. They have a very interesting website that really gives no clue as to who they are or if they geocache or not.

Their coins are interesting. Some I like, some I'm not crazy about.

If I were to purchase from them, I would place a small order to begin with. Check out their service, check out the quality of the coins, before dropping a bundle of money on them.

Thanks for the words of wisdom! I do like the women of distinction coins but..... some things about the site do not add up?! Some coins are marked with a GRAND opening price but this is not reflected when the coins are placed in the shopping cart and.... I may be being brain dead but I am having a tough time finding the "contact us" link

  8. Up with a sick dog last night so I didn't even try to get a coin...all sold out now, but I did buy a backpack for $1

Don't despair. The sale did not go through and you still have a chance!

Hope the doggie is feeling better soon!

  9. I am just realizing i missed sale of the Reindeer Geocoin from the geocoinshop.de. Does anyone have one to trade or sell?

    Still available, I think..

I can't seem to find them. Would still love one if anyone has one they can part with! I have many..... not-so-organized (blush) traders
