  1. Id say the logs on our Baldwin speak for themselves... @#&% Baldwin !! http://www.geocaching.com/seek/cache_detai...56-f8fdfe09136b
  2. Well... my husband and I cache under the same name. We have NOT logged any of our own hides, but technically? Hes planted about 5 that I have NEVER BEEN to, but just know are out there. I wouldnt have the slightest idea HOW to find them if I was alone, because... I didnt plant them. But... we still havent logged them - but then, I also havent tried to find them! LOL

  4. We found them! WalMart has the EXACT same Jeeps, and we released one as a TB The Imposter They have them right now in the $5 gift sets in the 'cheap' toy aisle.
  5. We have one (GCYF13) in the Northeast IL/Southeast WI area - Here are segments from a few of the logs - I will say that if anyone suspects what the cache IS, please don't post it, but feel free to email me privately: Thank you to everyone who put forth the effort for this cache. It is going to go down as my all-time favorite cache ever. OK. It's official. I've been outdone and there aint no two ways about it. A first class hide no doubt! What an idea! This has to be the most original idea for a container we nave ever seen. We love it. SL Very amusing story, and I have to admit we got quite the chuckle when we stumbled across it. I am not sure what kind of look I had on my face, but it had to be priceless. Thanks for the great cache! You truly outdid yourselves on this one. I applaud you all. You all must have spent a considerable of time and are to be commended (or is that condemned) for this masterpiece cache. Amazing, simply amazing. Who would have thought? A big thank you to all who had a hand in the creation of this cachetainer. Nice hide! Its been active since 9/22/06
  6. While I am a dog owner and lover, and we sometimes bring them along. I DETEST dog owners who DO NOT CONTROL THEIR DOGS. Regardless of where the cache was, or who was IN the park, when you take ANY dog out in public its YOUR responsibility as a dog owner to CONTROL your dog, and NOT allow it to jump up on someone who may not want to be jumped up on. I own dogs, and frequent dog shows, etc.. but I would be VERY unhappy if someone allowed their dog, a stranger to me, to jump up on me or my child. I should be allowed to walk on public property without fear of being assaulted by someone elses dog. Again, I love dogs. We breed and show boxers and attend dog activites, I do dog photography, etc. But dog area or not, the owners need to control their own animal. If you cant keep them from jumping up on every human they encounter, keep them home. As a scenario, lets say that we are all in a PUBLIC park, for humans - Lets pretend that my friend who is with me is a very huggy touchy person- and doesnt understand that some contact is uncomfortable. They run up to you, a stranger, and hug you, and try to sit on your lap. I dont think you would be happy, since you dont really know if my friend is friendly, insane, or just happy to see you. Well.. thats how I feel with a strange dog approaching me that is NOT UNDER CONTROL. Im pro dog, but pro responsible owner.
  7. I personally think the subject of caches in cemeteries is a little touchy, but in MY opinion, I cant see why. Whenever I visit a cemetery, whether to look around, take photographs, letterbox, or whatever, I occasionally - gasp - step on a grave! Its often hard NOT to - they are kind, of, um.. close together. I know that when Im no longer here, I could care less who's tromping over where Im buried, as Id rather have a stranger viewing my stone than to have been forgotten. (Maybe Ill have the first stone with the Groundspeak logo and a screw off cache IN the stone! Would be sweet wouldnt it??) Hey, if ya gotta go - why be a buzzkill? Again, I UNDERSTAND not placing caches UNDER stones, or NEAR graves, but I dont think cemeteries should be off limits, particularly if the cache is educational, or shows the visitor something interesting, or something to reflect on.
  8. The Nemesis series in Southeast WI - Placed by Tyedyeskycrew EXCELLENT challenge, excellent containers - many are hidden in plain sight. These are brain benders, that make you think, and look - each container, each location, everything about them took time, planning, and care. Not your typical magnet on a lamppost. Look them up - they are PHENOMINAL. At first, you love to hate them, then you hate it, but you LOVE them. I only hope there is a second series in the works... Im bummed about completing them all!
  9. I grew up with Irish Wolfhounds - my mother loves them, but at least in this region, temperaments have suffered in the past 20 years, so she will likely never own another. Heres our puppers... We breed and show boxers, and she has become our official outdoor nut. Shes our 3rd generation - Dad would love to come with, and he does go on the easier ones, but hes not as big on bushwhacking as she is! This is Ella - she is on our signature cards! We do professional photography - and this photo was taken late August.
  10. I tried to use the PM function, and it didnt work... said no such member.
  11. If someone wants to adopt them - just 'write a note' for the log to contact the owner and send him one of the emails hes trying to flee from - heck, just log until he responds. I too would hate to see a great cache be archived when someone is willing and able to take over. Kudos to you who are willing in that area - Good job!
  12. I would think no porn, no explosives, no roadkill, body parts, or Englebert Humperdink CD's. Otherwise, good to go?
  13. We have had a great reception from the few people who have seen our new signature items - full color postcards - professionally done with our 'logo' and name on them, as well as our web address. We also stamp some of them with our letterbox stamp...
  14. We use ours ALL the time.. Channel two as well. Northern IL/SE WI border area.
  15. I will vouch for this series being evil. Its evil. Pure evil. Insane, pulling out your hair evil. But..... The ones I have done so far??? LOVED THEM!!! I enjoy the challenge, and LOVE the creative minds that go into the planning of not only the SPOT, but the container, the theme, and the DEAD on coordinates that STILL boggle you! Kudos to Tyedyeskycrew for this local NOTORIOUS series that we all Love to hate, or hate to love. (Depending on how many you have found!)
  16. Hmm... there may be a Green Jeep in there... Thats the beauty of IL/WI caching. Its FLAT. Our biggest threat is killer rabbits and horny deer.
  17. The reviewer emailed today and was doublechecking about the cache prior to publishing it - (its close to our home, and they wanted to doublecheck that we would be OK with it - I made the clues specific about not needing to go in any yards, etc...) But VERY nice of the local reviewer to ask prior to publishing. I do appreciate it. I emailed back with the "Go ahead" and it should be up soon - so, the coin should be on its way!! Paula And.. thank you all for responses!
  18. Tried searching in the forums, but didnt find a clear answer easily! I apologize if its been asked, as IM SURE it has - but one more please - Im a Noob. Is it acceptable if you FIND a Geocoin to put it in a new cache you just planted recently? (Already heard from the Reviewer about the cache, it should be live tonight.) I assumed since it was a new cache, it would likely be found and moved quickly - but I also dont want hard feelings if thats just not done. Its a cache that I believe will be visited soon upon posting, as there are others in the general area - but NOT close. Whats the usual practice? We WILL be visiting other boxes soon, but I would love to plant it in our own!! Ok? Or no-no? Paula
  19. Wow.. the only time I would ever 'change' anything would be for repairs that clearly needed to be done. We recently found a cache that was AT the starting coordinates for another cache - but CLEARLY not what we were seeking. It was out in the open at a busy public park tucked up against a stone wall with no cover. I could do nothing BUT put it back where I found it, as I cannot begin to imagine where it SHOULD be - as Im not the placer. It was hard, and I worry it will be muggled - but when I came home to look for it to contact the placer - NO record of it exists, so... theres not alot I could do. Would I LIKED to have hidden it better?? Yes. But - it was visited recently, and if it WAS moved, I can't do anything about it if I dont know its first location. Oh well... I would be very upset if someone changed something without permission. I DO have a letterbox placed in a good spot, BUT, I did note in the clues that if someone truly believed its at risk of being found - REMOVE it and contact me to rehide it elsewhere. My hand carved stamp is worth a temporary inconvenience of a rehide. (And I dont want any seekers struggling with the decision of WHAT to do.) Just my 2 cents...
  20. Hi there.. Im new, and haven't gotten a 'formal' welcome, and no.. Im not asking for one! LOL BUT I WILL say that when I have logged finds, the owners have been WONDERFUL and have sent very friendly and helpful emails! I dont expect a "Hello, we are glad you came to our hobby' since Im sure there is too many people to welcome them all, but I certainly FEEL welcome, which is the important thing! (We also letterbox - and do both - we find AND plant - just planted our first cache yesterday!) I find it as fun to plant - if not more. Sounds odd, but I enjoy the interaction, and meeting the people. So... Hi everyone. Im new. Having fun, and learning how to play. Nice to meet you all! Paula CinemaBoxers
  21. We do both Letterboxing and are newer to Geocaching - and would LOVE to do a combo box! If anything MOSTLY to educate BOTH letterboxers, AND Geocachers about the other hobby! (So less Letterbox stamps go missing - thats the MAIN problem with Geocachers finding the letterboxes, all too often, they try and take the stamps! Bad!) I want to do a combo box - with a VERY prominent printout on the log ABOUT the hobbies. Would be great, and HOPEFULLY save some people the frustration of re-carving a traded out stamp!!! Paula
