I have been into Box Mines many times (even had my stag weekend there) and would advise against putting a cache inside the workings. I have been lost for about an hour in the inner area but eventually found our way out. The area is a Site Of Special Scientific Intrest because of thebat roosts. Overall a great place to visit if you know what you are doing but not a cache placing place. FBC

Been caching since eary 2006 became a member Aug same year still trying to reach 100. Kids hate caching, wife thinks I'm sad so a bit of stealt caching to and from work has got me this far. Best hit was 16 in a day which was really something for me!!! Will keep plod caching FBC

Gof1 There have been a few silly niggles going on in the UK over the past few months and I have had enough of rules for rules sake - some of which have been very petty. I like geocaching and have 3 caches out of my own (1 under my sons logon) and a few travellers out and about. I dont like being told what to do by face less people 1000s of miles away (probably why I like caving). I have been looking at other UK caching sites and have seen that the 'rules' are a little more relaxed. This is the reason I may archive my ones and place elsewhere. FBC

Thanks Ian Just running a few things through my thoughts before I make my decision. This may be the one I have been looking for. I am just finding out about archiving on the US forum and if that question is answered the way I want it to be I shall proceed with my action of not renewing membership and archiving all 3 of my caches . No great loss to the GC community but I do not like the present big brother attitude fron over the pond. I cache because it is fun and a bit of a minority sport (caving being another) now I dont want to under this guise. FBC

Should I decide to archive all of my caches and then to join a different type of caching group, can these be used on the other site? Bearing in mind that they technically belong to me and GC.com is only a listing site I can not see a problem with this? Fatblokecaver

Can anyone please explain as to if I can still look up caches and log them as well as having the ability to activate geocoins and track them should I decide to not renew my membership? I know I woud not be able to access premuim member caches but hey ho, such is life. I would not be able to post on the forums life is not so bad that I need to. But what are the MAJOR differences. This is getting pathetic Why do we as a 'sensible' formu with more 'hits' than any Geocaching Nation (Bar US) have to bow down time after time to some of the STUPID RULES laid down from over the pond. They will have us eating burgers and drinking fizzy black stuff (Not the holy stout) whilst out caching soon. Almost had enough - time for EUROPECACHE.COM to try and take off and scrub the USA version. More bacon sarnies, pasties, warm beer, roast beef and chicken tikka whilst caching. I have been trying to up date my cache stats since Jan of this year. Alas I have had no luck. I get the e mail delivered and then it won't open as it has been sent in the wrong 'style'. If anyone can put into laymans terms cut this, press enter, paste here etc without the technical lingo I would be most grateful. Heres hoping FBC

It is the updating of stats I am having problems with, the cut and pasting is easy but I can not seem to open the e mail to copy it. Any ideas - apart from deleting the cache stat part of my profile??? FBC

I have tried to update my profile over the last few monthe (since Jan of this year!!!) but am having problems. I can not remember what to do when the stat e mail arrives. Most of the time I am unable to open it as it has been sent 'the wrong way'. Can some one pleeeeeease write down in Numpty terms how to up date my profile. I am currently holding a geocoin (picked it up today). The owner has e mailed me to see if I can drop it into a box where it will make it abroad. Is anyone going abroad in the nxt week or so caching? If so can you e mail me with your address and I will send you the coin to move on. Many thanks FBC

Put in a request for a song - was not played!!!! Followed up with an e mail not read out - Followed up with a brief explanation and a request to try it you might like it, not mentioned. At least we did our bit for geochching. Well done for at least one of us getting a mention - even if Mr Evans can not pronounce it properly. FBC

I have lost my 1st TB. It was placed into Dont Pass By with a geocoin and another TB. My TB has gone (*****) as has the geocion but the other TB was left. Perhaps someone has not logged their visit, hopefully, and will dorp off my TB later along with the geocoin. I will give it 2 weeks then will archive it, shame it was racing against my 2 children. This has nothing to do with 'what's going on' elsewhere ish!!!!!!!!?????. As in a lot of cases (sport wise) we have invented a sport, then everyone has a habit of taking it over and being better at it than us, football (soccer that is), cricket, ROUNDERS ( like baseball only played by girlies ) etc etc. Would it now be the time to have a UK Cache.com so that we can do the lovely game/sport/pastime, call what you like, to our slightly changed rules. This would be a bit like American football - British Caching do you get my point? Hopefully this post will not get hoofed off into the cyber space ether too quickly. Just a thought. FBC

I was thinking of doing something like this - but it would have been a parasite cache, in that it would move around 'living' in each cache it visited (bit like a TB) but it was rejected. Shame because it worked when I was letterboxing years ago!!!!!!!! FBC

5 days ago I found my 1st first to find. Yes it was nice to get one in the bag after 3 years of caching but no big deal. Just happened to be in the right place in the right time. I dont believe in computer hogging waiting for them to appear then rushing off to bag them. It was just nice to get one in the bag. FBC

Hi redslm I managed to pick up an Etrex H from the flea bay site for £50. It is great and works well under trees. Not sure if the person is still selling them but they came from USA. Have a good look they are out there somewhere. Not sure if there are any cheapies for sale on the car boot sale on this site? FBC

Hi all, I have re activated my cache (XXXXXXXXX) after it was seriously muggled, smashed up and nasty comments left in what was left of the log book. I have moved it to a more secure place which is a bit off the beaten track but close to 2 other caches I have an interest in. The question is - how long does it take for someone to have a go at it? - come on its not that hard!!!!!! FBC Edited by Lactodorum to prevent "cache advertising"
